Eliquids & Flavourings known to cause issues in some Tanks

List of e-juices known to crack SOME polycarbonate tanks, it depends on the grade, spec & thickness of the polycarb used in the tank. At present there is not a ' Bad ' tank list, just this known juice offenders list, they may be fine in one and crack another. These are not ' Bad ' eliquids either and are safe to vape.

Any sour flavours
Any flavours that contain malic acid.
Any e-liquids that contain essential oils
E-liquids that contain triacetin, used in vg liquids to carry flavour more effectively
Cinnamon like "atomic cinnamon" types, not warm cinnamon like cinnamon coffee cake, this is OK
Wintergreen juice or flavouring
Mimosa
Cola
Nutmeg
Clove oil
Sassafras
TPA Ripe Banana flavouring
TPA Honeysuckle flavouring
TPA Maraschino cherry flavouring
TPA Cherry Blossom flavouring
TPA Root Beer flavouring
Mrs. T's strawberry shortcake, Snickerdoodle
KBV Hummingbird Nectar
Vapor Renu Teaberry, Cherry Vanilla (possibly most of their flavours)
Vapor Renu Mountain Dew, Baha Blast and Strawberry Limeade
Vapalicious Gooey Butter Cake
TPA Mountain Dew flavouring
TPA Cinnamon Danish flavouring
Rawrvapor Hawaii Sunrise

Good post Perpetua, was looking for a list like this I'm newish to vaping but so far like tank atomisers the best and can't afford for them to drop to bits on me.

Perpetua, any chance you could post a wee pic of your vaping cupboard, room or chamber. I would love to see this as I imagine it would be like the scene in Indiana Jones, where they put the box with the Ark of the Covenant into the largest warehouse on earth

Lt Cigs sent me this message in a newsletter.....It may be of use to some of you

Polycarbonate tanks and issues with some liquids.

None of the polycarbonate tanks that we sell at LT Ecigs has any issues what so ever with liquids cracking the tank material.
Banana, cola, all citrus types, pommegranate, cinnamon, menthol made from crystals are all liquids that have been accused to crack tanks.
I would like to turn it around and state that it is the quality of some tanks that cause these problems, not the liquid.
The Banana WG (Wera Garden) has been mentioned a few times as a tank killer. We have sold hundreds of bottles of this liquid and had a few feedbacks about cracking tanks with this liquid.
All liquids LT Ecigs sell are off course tested before its shipped and also are tested in polycarbonate tanks.
If we had even the slightest issue with cracking tanks these liquids would never haven been sold in the shop.
We have had several types of tanks, CE4+, Vivi and others, complete submerged in the pure Banana WG flavouring for hours and no cracking what so ever.
We are sorry for those who had their tanks cracked and will suggest they contact their supplier regarding the quality of the items

Theres been about 8 cases over the weekend of tanks cracking after people have used liquids from Lt. Banana, limeballs and raspberry seem to be the favourites. Theres been about 5 different tanks as well like the v-core and kangers having cracked tanks.

They used to post alot on a facebook group about their liquids and have since disappeared from that group when issues were raised with them.

Wera garden was what was in my vivi nova when the tank cracked and literally fell apart lol. Also beau products turkish delight flavouring was in my kanger when the tank cracked, no issues with either device until said flavours were used.

I always thing these lists are - wrong. Polycarbonate is not fit for purpose for use in tanks for vaping. Citric and Malic acids occur naturally in many fruits and most of the other flavours that crack these shoddy things are also benign. Surely the list should be of "Tanks prone to cracking" and what cracked them, because some of these things are worse than others. I have yet to have a genuine Vision Vivi Nova crack - have had several nasty clearomizers go though. I received recently a Kanger Protank - pyrex tank. Agas now come with these - this has to be the way forward. What we vape should be down to us - not some crappy Chinese manufacturer of goods not fit for purpose.

I had a free sample of mint mix (menthol) from LT in a new clearo & it has cracked the clearo in two places yesterday.

You can add joosejuice pineapple to the list. It just destroyed a new tank .. (An ismok mini bcc)

I had a cheapo CE4 (thankfully! ) that went milky white and cracked with JooseJuice Spearmint
