You can have mine gladly, still have it.
Its not only resistance they suffer in, they are much to soft and useless with certain batteries, the hot springs are a good 6mm taller and much firmer.

Actually a little wider than the Hotspring but so flimsy you could easily squeeze it into a mini argento's cap ( i tried ), it got hot again in a mech mod.

Petroleum jelly is not conductive gel..For the relatively low currents and voltages in e-cigs it will give you a Low Battery warning much before clean contacts will.. If you think it will assist, no problem. I know I won't be using it..

I have actually got two different springs on the Black Chrome and rubber button chrome type Vamos, but they are both the narrow ones. One of them had two more coils on it than the other one.

this one is approx 20mm wide and 15mm tall with 3/4 wraps
Hot spring is much narrower at 15mm but is easily stretche to ensure a snug fit in a vamo cap

Ive just done a resistance check on both springs, there is a 1.8ohm difference, and strangely enough the ss spring was very erratic before it settled and the hot spring was almost instantaneous.

If you think it will assist, no problem. I know I won't be using it.. While the voltage is low, I wouldn`t agree that the current is. If it is enough to produce a hot end cap then it isn`t really low. But we are all entitled to our opinions. Like I said , we`ll have to agree to disagree on this one, but, no problem

The erratic reading is quite possibly caused by oxidation, it is the only thing that makes any sense to me. To me, a spring is just a piece of steel wire shaped and then hardened, it really shouldnt be as erratic as what appears to happen and can only really be caused by something at the point of contact between the spring and the meter lead. I think the hot spring (the ones I have seen) are possibly copper plated which is one of the best conductors in general use that are available. I could be wrong, it could be some sort of alloy.

Needless to say, Its a very poor spring and R&D / QC need their asses kicking for allowing it out, regardless of what must be a few cents difference.

They just used them, full stop. It is so competitive now with the Zmax and the CVI to contend with, a weeks lost sales must really add up. The sales of these VV/VW devices must have been incredible this past two months.
