I remember when I first started vaping. In most pubs I went in I would get people coming up to me and saying, 'oh what's that?' Now nearly every pub I go in everyone knows what they are. There is so many vapers in Manchester pubs these days. I don't get stares or anything, I just sit there with my pint chain vaping away. I love it.
I've only had a problem with one pub that I mentioned in another thread.
Happy days, at the moment.

I'm also in Manchester Ewol - what sort of area are you in? Alty & Sale pubs kind of know about it and are OK with it, but I've never seen anyone else vaping! :-S

Oldham. We have a couple of vape shops in town so it's probably increasing awareness. Both are expensive as hell. I'd rather take the bus to heywood than go to either of them, but I do like that we have them and that it's increasing awareness.

I have found that the Publicans' Forum that I mentioned earlier already has a thread devoted to vaping and makes specific reference to Russel and his CAM-VIP campaign. Unfortunately there is also a negative post there which quotes an an American FDA report which may put some publicans off. The thread is not very long, so maybe it is time to revitalise it... P-)

I took my oldest to Manchester t'other week for a gig at the Academy, right in the middle of the Uni street (Oxford Road I think). There was a McDonald's 200metres up the road on the opposite side and a pub called The Oxford on the corner of the block McD was on. Whilst son & gf were queueing and in the gig I spent all my time either in mcD or the pub (mostly the pub - better coffee) vaping away quite happily with my book. No staff in either establishment challenged me once, so gotta be a good sign

It could help. BUT first go to our (insert curse word here)ers of a goverment and get them to lower tax which would inturn make cheaper drinks so more would visit!!
And to you health finatics out there, SO WHAT if people drink them selves silly and kill themselves?. Its called Darwins Evolution! lol

You can say I'm vaping with an electronic cigarette and is that not OK. But if they ask you to leave or not use it, there is no point arguing, at least I don't think so.

^^^ no, there wouldn't be... even though legal, the principle of "their property, their rules" will ALWAYS apply... You still have the option of deciding if such a place is somewhere you want to spend your money and voting with your feet. I'm a stickler for stuff like that, one bad customer service incident (I don't mean mistakes etc., I mean how they deal with them), and I will never give them my hard-earned cash ever again.
