Building a dual coil for anything (with pics)

Whats the measurement of the Kanthal and how many wraps ?

Haven't got an I30 to try with.

The legs in a Nova head are too short to really need non-res I think. When I do normal coils that size it's between 2.0 - 2.4 ohm, so I'm hoping with a 1.4 ohm dual as I left half a turn extra each end.

I think it's 0.16 kanthal , I'll double check but it wasn't off my reel of 0.2.

The coils won't touch as the top deck is held over the lower on its own legs. Do you want me to do another one with a pic of the wicks mid-way to dual coil twisting ?

Yes please Mono, when you get the chance. I have never tried vaping on a duel wick but have wanted to, so it would be good to have a go at building one.

2nd one came out a touch lower at 1.2 ohms (almost 1.3), a couple of close ups to show how far down wicks sit, and cut-out on head.

Filled up, vaping great with bags of flavour !!! Feel like I've been run over by a fruit stall ( Vapology Forest Fruits).

Yes please Mono, when you get the chance. I have never tried vaping on a duel wick but have wanted to, so it would be good to have a go at building one.

This is basically what you're doing. If it needed longer legs, like in an iClear 16/30 then you would attach them at the point of twiddling the legs together

My pic was slightly wrong. I crossed each opposite end leg and twisted under the wick for stability/strength.

Fantastic Mono, I ended up with 1.3 ohms when I did mine, vapes like a...........................................very good vaping thing I dont have an iclear30 yet, but I would imagine it is a very similar vape without the wobbly drip tip (which is a great idea). Nice one Mono!!!

I suppose in the pic above, you dont necessarily have to have the twisted wire going all the way down, it might make it easier to thread the wires if one wire on each side was shortened.

Must have a look inside an iclear and see how they do it, it is after all no more than a nova with a wobbly drip tip ;-) (and two coils of course)

If you are like me (winding coils does my head in lol) you can use pre made ones, they work out at about 25p from Zainy or Vaporbreak and end up about 1.3/1.4 ohms when double coiled. The coil length tends to be quite long with 2.8 ohms and they need to be tidy.
