I love this idea of modding a Vamo to come up with something much more beautiful. I do agree that just looking at it, a top brace might give it more symmetry and strength too.

Yeah the problem with a top brace is, firstly I don't think it needed structurally
and secondly if I brace the top you can't take off the top half of the tube to change
to smaller 8350 batteries.

No idea, as its still a prototype, I will use it and play with it over the next few days.

Kinda on the neutral fence here, neither like it or loathe it, as long as it can fit in my jacket pocket and isn't too bulky I don't care about the shape. Fire button has to be in a better position since it will be a bit of a handfull though.

without a brace would it survive a drop ?

It will survive better than anything attached to it, the bridge piece it steel
Which has been brazed (what they used to use on motorcycle frames when they were steel)
To double thickness of copper, it's biggest risk is people using it as a wrist building device,
The small flexes may break it in time, that's why I'm road testing it.

I'd like a simple 18500 tube for mine. If you make those in normal ss then I'd have one if it was realistically priced. I reckon you'd sell stacks of them.

So do I, but in this case I think it's a fail, bloody ugly, the two tubes are too far apart imo, making it too big and awkward to use I would think.

There's constructive criticism and there's just plane rude "bloody ugly" might hurt my feelings. 

Too wide, its 54.7 at the endcaps and 52.2mm where you hold it.

This is me holding it, I do take a large size in gloves but am by no means a Giant.
