second VN atty just died! Not bad for 2 in nearly 10 months of heavy Vaping. Also they do get a bit of abuse(i.e. not being cleaned for ages!)!

For doouble coils I do find cutting a small notch in the silicone cap helps wicking, especially if you fing you're vaping it continuously and getting dry hits.

I do the same, as in the pics on my thread. One thing I haven't tried is doing an X-coil by dremelling a 2nd wick slot. I was watching scott's ( igetcha) Ikatha review and wondered if there are issues with 2 coils touching. Shorts, or impedance affected.

Giles uses an uncoiled strand which would keep them separate, it's the effect if they DO touch I was wondering. Bluefish 's are pretty close together tho.

Non res is only for when long tails are required, neither the nova or evod have long tails that got me thinking...I've been wondering for a while how kanger did the evod 1.8ohm coils.. a stock 1.8ohm evod head has 5 wraps of a noticeably thinner gauge wire then my 32AWG/0.2mm kanthal A1 just took one apart and it looks like they're done with no-res wire and a wire zapper

The wire I took out of mine wasn't joined like that. It was a 2.5ohm coil, 6 wraps of maybe .18, definitely not .20

no idea why they've gone that route. +1 seems a strange choice when 5 wraps of 32AWG would give the same result ???
