I have read a lot of posts recently that slate different clearomisers for gurgling and/or leaking. I would like to throw in my tuppence worth by explaining how I avoid this problem which can affect all clearomisers irrespective of manufacturer. Most of you will know all this but it might help the newbies and prevent some from giving up vaping at an early stage and returning to the stinkies. 1: When you get a new rebuildable clearomiser don't assume that it is properly assembled - strip it down, check all 'o' rings are in good nick and properly seated, give everything a good wash and soak in steradent or similar to remove all traces of the manufacturing process, dry off all parts and then reassemble ensuring everything is securely (but not overly) tightened. This also applies when cleaning/dry burning or changing the atomiser head. 2: Be particularly careful with CE4 type drip tips (the screw in type) don't tighten these too tightly as they can unscrew the atty from the base when you unscrew them for refilling. 3: When refilling, avoid getting juice in the air hole by using a needle cap bottle or a syringe and don't fill above 3/4 of the maximum level. 4: Avoid setting your device down lying flat - stand up or at least lay down at an angle. Lanyards are available cheaply for ego style batteries that are difficult to balance standing up. I hope this advice is not viewed a being patronising. These are just things that I learnt the hard way.

Thanks Ros, I know that I had a few head scratching sessions when I first started so I thought these (obvious now) pointers might help others.

Ref point two, I'd say that will only happen if the coil is not tightened properly, so if people follow your other point about stripping down and refitting then all will be well

Yeah I'll agree it's possible, but the main point is, don't tighten everything up as tight as you can, it will cause early failure and only lead to being disappointed.

Great little post freefromsmoking. giles is this worth putting into the newbie starter sticky your doing? Sent from my Galaxy Note 2 I think it would probably fit better in the "Tips for newbies" thread. Which could also possibly do with organising to make it easier to find your way around it.

Giles, Please feel free to move this thread to where ever you think most suitable. I just started the thread here because most of the posts that I have read slating clearos for gurgling and leaking have been in the general ecig/vaping forum.

Hey, don't confuse me with the moderators. I'm just a humble citizen here. I'm talking to Chrissie about the 'how to start' thread is all. But now she'll read this..

Sorry Giles I was not sure of the protocol for moving a thread. Just that both Roscopecotrain and yourself discussed moving it so I assumed you might know.

Thanks for tagging me giles @freefromsmoking got to admit I'm in 2 minds as to whether to merge this thread in tips & tricks on the new members board or to sticky it as a new thread. I worry about having too many stickied threads in new members so I'm going to make a snap decision & sticky this here in general vaping
