How to stop the rubber burn taste in protank heads?

i had this and found that taking a couple of non firing drags helps coax the juice into the atty then fire it up take a toke and the burnt flavor is gone.

worked for me anyway!

I came across a post last week on another forum that might interest you.

Someone was using a dual coil on a protank
two seperate coils coming up from the neg on either side, twisted together round the wick and meeting in the middle then dropped down the centre pos pin

I meant to go back and check it out as i cant figure how hes avoiding shorts with this setup and id like to try it out(Ill try finding the link tomorrow and post it but i dont hold much hope as im damned if i remember where i read it.

Still no joy finding the post but ill keep looking on and off and find it.
Thing is the guy claimed to have removed the rubber grommet completely and as i just quickly read it ive no idea how he avoided shorting the wires or avoid leaks(but what an advantage being able to ditch the grommet .......or was it a windup ???

Roscopecotrain been messing around all day and my outcome is for the safest route for all ratio's of juices is:

2mm Ekowool with 2 x Strands of 2mm silica as flavor wicks on top.

This applies to Protanks/Evods/Davides, basically anything with a Evod head

It works flawlessness on 50/50 - 60/40 - 70/30 ratio juices, you could say i have overdone my nicotine intake checking this

Nice one romelee. I have found that 2 strands of 2mm is to much. The juice cant get to the wick fast enough for me to vape. 1 strand works ok but 1 strand of 1mm seems to work spot on. This applies to both 2mm and 3mm silica and 2mm ekowool. Strange how we differ so much. I suppose how we drag on it makes a huge difference as well.

Im now using 7 wraps of .25 on 2mm eko with no burnt taste from the off and it's lasting for ages. The extra coils are spreading the heat out without caramalising the sweetners - and still <2Ohms. Result
