I'm in north-west kent, and it really wasn't that bad here. My garden table blew over despite tying it all down (it's been a while since I learnt my knots in the scouts) but apart from that there was very little damage.
However, the transport links into London have been completely written off. A fallen tree on the A2 closed the road, no trains (I last checked at about 11am) and they shut the QE2 bridge. When they reopened it, two lorries collided completely blocking the road again. I expect the A20 was ok albeit crazily busy, but I've lost motivation to try to travel so I'm working from home.
We really struggle with all weather conditions in the uk except weak sunshine and light drizzle - it's quite funny really.
