An extremely important subject and one everyone should understand imho. I haven't started using a mech mod yet but have been spending considerable time researching. A while back someone put this site up on here : www.tasteyourjuice.com/wordpress/battery-information/

There seems to be two areas of importance on safety
1. Nicotine
2. Batteries.

One of the issues he raises in that video is reputable batteries. Has anyone had a fake AW IMR battery...How did you know it was fake?

Some good info there Roscopecotrain and thanks for sharing but he should have explained the difference between ICR and IMR batteries and although he warns us to watch out for fake AW IMR batteries he doesn't explain how to detect a fake ... even if you buy from a reputable vendor who's to know that he hasn't been supplied with fakes further up the supply chain?

Importantly he doesn't warn about coils resistance changes with temperature and time, normally it goes up over time, but with ss under them a partial short will still vape at a lower resistance so that always leave some head room especially if you use a APV with one decimal place accuracy to measure R. And to keep in mind the possibility that your mod gets activated in your bag, pocket rolls under a cushion on your sofa for a long period this is the bigger danger as batteries generally have a hinger pulse threshold and cope with short high current bursts. He was right about the chargers, would add my Xtar WPII charges all of my 28 batteries to 4.201 consistently.
