I drove past a place being fitted out there a couple of weeks back, but it said it was a Shisha lounge.

Hi Dolly No it was not on A13, Bishopsgate is the road that runs from Shoreditch into the City via Liverpool St. Where on the A13 did you see it, if in East London we'll check it out (any excuse to go out). Ahhh ok, I get confused as to road names there. The Shisha place isn't too far from it though. If you drive down past Aldgate station on your left and take a right turn at those big traffic lights onto the A13 Commercial Rd, it comes up on your left, a few hundred yards down. You can't miss it. It's big and bold.

We'll look out for that, thats a dead spot for us transport wise, we can get almost anywhere in London by bus from the end of the road, but East London got some dead spots, takes 3 buses to travel 2 miles and thats one of them. That part of town is a dead spot for more reasons than transport! To be honest, I don't think it's a great place to have it. When my kids were small, I used to go up there very early on Sunday mornings when it was the bustling hub of the rag trade and buy stock to hold children's clothes parties. I made a fortune at it. The whole industry has died a death there nowadays due to China undercutting. The Spitalfields area is unrecognisable now. All trendy bars and restaurants!

I am having a coffee at Brick Lane. Where is the Vape Bar- Bishopsgate leads into Norton Folgate then becomes Shorditch High Street up near Comercial Street. I shall have a wander that way later( when I can justify alcohol) and see if I can spot it.

Have you been to Brick Lane, Truman Brewery, and Columbia Road recently? I think they are the best street markets in London. Spitalfields is too comercial for my liking, but the others are great. Petticoat Lane/Middlesex Street is abysmal! I am now having a beautiful pint of Hackney brewed stout outside the Birdcage, listening to the best Irish buskers(who don't want your money but will accept your beer) in the the only(I think) street flower market left. New Covent Garden is great but it hasn't got the atmosphere of this place. Columbia Road/Brick Lane the perfect Sunday morning stroll.

Oh I envy you Phil. I used to love Columbia rd market. Wish I was there! Good to hear it's still going strong. I am off to the woods next to our new home, with my dog and granddaughter which is going to be heaven in the spring sunshine. Enjoy your day Phil!

It is heaving down here. I am not that keen on flowers, but this market is glorious. They'll start selling off stuff cheap in a couple of hours and I'll wake up this evening with 30 gagioli and a tray of petunias wondering where it all went wrong.
