inshurance groupings are a joke as they add on extra depending on who uses the car ie i have a corsa and because a lot of kids drive corsa its a high risk car and as such they load up the insurance(can get cover on a 180 bhp vxr mariva for half that of the corsa) go figure insurance companies want to get as much outa you as poss

So I tried to price up insurance for other cars, now why they have changed groupings so that I have no clue is another issue. A corsa, a fiesta 1000 - 1200 engine more money than mine to insure??? And don't mention golf or saxo. I couldn't get any bloomin smaller.

I wouldn't be getting a new car so zero tax doesn't come into it, a friend of mine recently traded his heap in and got another younger heap lol, however the tax on the new one was more than £200 per year. I used to be totally up on cars and getting good deals but now I have no clue with insurance and tax. Basically I want something that does at least 45 miles to the gallon, tax costs £140 per year or less and insurance £300 per year, as that is roughly what I am at now. If it looks good, drives fast and has extras of course that is a bonus but I spent 3 months looking last year, then decided to pay £500 to get my pug worth £500 through the mot ???

One little tip when using any of the comparison sites, get yourself a free sim card from one of the mobile phone companies and use that number for your quotes, that way you wont be bombarded for evermore with marketting calls OR... if you REALLY want to feel good..... wait for one of said marketting calls to come through and make a note of THEIR number... and use THAT one on the comparison sites, its a great feeling to know that you will get them calling each other 10 times a day

also little trick after a quote dont use correct email addy or save it,also after each quote on new site erase your browser cookies this will stop price jumping, the cookie part alos helps when looking at hols, sometimes price jumps, erase cookies go back and it shows original low price
