Looks a typical clone, microns thick plating that Autosol will remove, or a mild abrasive cleaner like astonish if you have any under the sink. I'm actually happy as a pig in poo about it as I would rather it polished SS/Chrome anyway. Weren't the originals just brass aluminum? Yep, plated brass is just vulgar.

is there anyway of buffing out scratches or bad finishes on a mod without a buffer i think it is called

geordie_vaper fine silicon carbide paper kept wet with water and a few drops of washing up liquid. use finer and finer grade in the opposite direction to the previous one. finish with well worn fine paper as the carbides are then blunt and you get a better finish. Autosol or a kitchen cleaner with a very fine abrasive used to clean cookware will finish it off.
