If you get one of these airflow controlers and remove the exsisting 510 connector you can probably mount this in its place... just drill it where the two red marks are and use small bolts to mount it...put the top back on to hide the screws/bolts ....ive used these in such a manner many many times on box mods that ive made...ive also created flush mount connectors with them also....

How do you get a connection on the other side @agenthoover ? Looks to me like it's either steel or chrome? (and wouldn't be suitable to solder to..?)

The ones ive had in the past ive just roughed up the soldering surface with wet and dry and they have soldered no problem, ive had one or two that are brass underneath and some that are a dull grey colour.... its been quite some time since ive used them so who knows what they are made of now... its worth a shot tho, if they are stainless steel right through you can still solder them, its more difficult but it can be done, however ive never come across that problem... failing that there will be other ways to connect the wires, it just takes a little thought... the neg wire is not a problem, you can just screw a nut on the bottom threading with a crimped ring connector... i will have a think about the pos...

Ok... the center pin is easy,.. if it wont solder just replace the center pin with a brass one, you can use a small brass bolt as your center pin and just solder to that

Thats a good idea also Ronaldo... there are probably quite a few options so all is not lost, only problem is (for some people) is that airflow controller is not 22m ... cant remember the size but they are less than 22mm... they are around 19 or 20mm if i recal.

I would rather have something that worked and looked weird then a piece of junk sat in a drawer myself though

Me too... if whoever does it ,does it right, the results are quite good, ive recessed wood before to the correct depth and used them on touchwood type mods, as you know touchwood type mods have a brass top plate (and bottom).. the connector sits under the plate and you would never know its there.
