Made a mistake this morning. I recoiled a Penelope and forgot to check it.
Fired it up and the magnetic switch just clamped down on the mech mod. Knew something was up so unscrewed the switch and atty quick. Battery was pretty hot but not so hot I couldn't hold it. Magnets were shot. So I checked the Penelope, all seemed ok, was reading .9 which is what I would have expected from the coil ??? So what the hell was it?
I checked the mod out, looked for anywhere that it may short out but couldn't see any problem. Put in another battery and checked it with a meter, still ok. Rechecked atty and put it back on, fired ok and used it for half an hour, then same thing happened switch clamped down, panic, unscrew, more panic.
Atty now reading 000, bloody thing. Another set of magnets shot away.
What shall I do with the batteries? they did heat up but not so hot I couldn't hold them. Do you think they will be ok?

Maybe just a mechanical problem causing a jam at the switch? If you have another device stick the battery in that and see if it works normally. Then recharge it after a while and see if it reacts normally. What battery is it and what device are you using?
Was it still vaping when the switch was jammed?

Then recharge it after a while and see if it reacts normally. What battery is it and what device are you using? Was it still vaping when the switch was jammed? It was the atty shorting, I don't know why after the fist short it read normal, or why it worked for half an hour before doing it to me again. It was an ithica stlye atty and I guess the long wire that you wrap around the bottom must of been touching something outside the ceramic cup.
see if they will charge if they do then they are fine well thats what i do anyways. i have no idea why you were getting short though They were IMR batteries, I have charged them up again and they seem to be ok. I was surprised at how quick the batts heat up though, it couldn't have been more than 15secs before I had the switch off the mod. Really cant think of a reason why the magnets would be shot, verrry strange ??? The magnets were on the battery and button switch, they provide the repelling force to the switch. I guess when such a high amount of power went through them it changed the polarity or just messed up the magnetism totally. So the switch just stuck straight down on the battery so the connection couldn't be broken.
