Good piece here in the Guardian, which applies to electrical goods (and an eGo is an electrical goods)

Over here when I was buying e-cig stuff from a local shop I was told the batteries have a 6 month warranty on them, however any clearos I found out had no warranty at all. I bought 5 little CE4 clearos at 10 euros each (yeah how expensive eh) one of them was faulty so I took it back the very next day and I could not get a refund or an exchange for it. Suffice to say I was really miffed about losing 10 euros especially when one pack of fags only cost 2 euros. Ok, that's in Spain, don't know about the UK policies. Trading Standards would probably know.

More reading here on some goods you get up to 6 years to open a dispute apparently.

Any warranty offered by a vendor is in addition to your statutory rights under the Sale of Goods Act ( SOGA) and cannot override it. have a look over on the Consumer Action Group forum in the retail section, loads of examples of retailers thinking their t&c's are more important than SOGA

DiscoDes can you PM me to let me know who the vendor is that is charging for warranties? I'm hoping it's not a registered vendor as we wouldn't have approved them for stating such charges.

I believe the vendor has removed these options now as it was pointed out to them that it was against distance spellings regs.

Jerri, Des has PM'd me with the name of the vendor & they have indeed removed some of the warranty options, but not all.

Just gone by the thread I saw then posting about it on another forum. I imagine the ones they're still offering are against regs as surely when you buy something like a mod it should be expected to last more than 3 months. Not a great advertisement tbh, as a customer that says to me that should anything happen after 3 months they'd make it difficult to get a refund or replacement.

In the last week a major vendor has been banned from one of the big forums, caused major fall out on another (long term members throwing toys out of pram and jumping ship) and even mild manored Todd has turned his back on them all for flipping (basic economics, supply & demand, get as much money as u can). This forum was the only place that removed vendor status for bad customer service (IIRC months b4), the others don't seem to care as long as they don't break the unwritten (BS) rules of vaping. AAEC is taking care of you

BTW, warranties are also covered by distance selling of financial products regs.. Can cancel within 14 days with full refund if no claim made, and 14 days start when the company provide you with written t&cs. So if this guy wasnt sending out T&cs, then anyone who bought warranty is entitled to a complete refund,.

Any UK online vendor must abide by the UK Distance Selling Regulations. All goods carry a 12 month warranty. The vendors claim of "30 Days" aint woth the screen it written on. AND I just used this info against a well known vendor to get a replacement SVD
I am also an online vendor but not e-cigs so I know lol

I think I will have another go at Apple after they fobbed me off when my daughters iPod died a few days outside warranty. (charge for repair or 10% off a new one). Thanks for posting the link anyone got an email address for Apple...?
