My first kayfun build was with 0.25 and it was simply no comparison to anything else I'd tried! Pure bliss What you may find as you grow to be comfortable with it is that you'll be tinkering with your coil resistances a fair bit. I coil mine at anywhere between 0.7-3.1ohms depending on the juice.. What I will say though is if you do go straight into microcoils, my main points would be to run the coil diagonally across the deck, and don't choke the channels.. You don't need masses of wick for it to work properly, too much cotton will prevent the juice from flowing properly and ruin the experience with a dry hit.
Only other thing to be wary of is that the filling process either makes or breaks you.. Take your time and don't stress out if it leaks.. They are a steep learning curve to begin with but you'll have it down in no time! I use this ultrasonic cleaner and it's quite simply brilliant. Your method will work fine in the meantime though. Just strip the kayfun right down (including the centre post) and go from there. Thanks for the info and regarding the ultrasonic cleaner, I can't decide at the moment to go for the one you linked to or the JPL 7000 model, it's not a priority right now but it will happen soon, maybe put it on my bleepmas list

Can only echo what others have said already. You will love the kayfun,I bought my first one around a year ago and now I have four!! Below is what works for me and that's a simple microcoil of .28 with a little jap cotton or normal cotton wool for wicking. Exciting times for you and your new KF...enjoy
