Gonna drill out the charge LED hole on my hana clone. I was just wondering if anyone had come across clear polycarbonate rods smaller than 2mm dia.
I was hoping to drill it out to 1.5mm and just glue a piece in, or should I just do it 2mm with rod or 1.5mm and leave it open?

Ripshod yep that is a 2 mm hole in the pic, the fibre optic is 0.75 mm and I used Super Glue Power Flex (gel type) to hold it and form a sort of lens. If you are gluing to the LEDs you can cut across the fo at an angle to harvest more light, I did when using a single length in my first mod, but for the Hana I glued the fo to the case first and used white sugru to seal around it and the LEDs. I just snipped of a metre for you.

Thanks ronaldo. I didn't see that myself, was transfixed on the PC thinking I'd just get some 2mm and reduce it. But then I saw VapingBad's pic and it looks good. Was thinking of using clear nail varnish to fix and form a lens, but I think I've got some superglue in my toolbox. Many thanks VB

I use a dab of clear hot glue and then cover it in black hot glue, makes the fibre optic brighter..

I did What's the world coming to, it's OK for tacking I spose and I have used it to fill plug caps on audio leads, but I think there is always a better option if you want the work to last.

Similar to covering with white Sugru (silicon putty) or could make a bit of oogoo with clear silicon that will handle the heat if the user over powers the charger, especially the Evolv one. (oogoo is 3 parts clear silicon to 1 part corn flour by volume, you can use more corn flour to make it set faster. Sugru is better at adhering and a lot more expensive)

I agree 100% I was just saying the Chinese use it on everything as a filler and it takes forever to dismantle anything from there but I would just use super glue in this instance as LEDs are plastic so the super glue will work well

the glue they use on the sx350's really pisses me off, not even sure what it is, too soft for epoxy but too hard for a hot glue. Nightmare.
