Kayfun v. Orchid - your thoughts?

I have 3 Kayfun variants (all clones) and a Taifun clone, which all take single coils and cotton wool or rayon wicks, depending on how lucky I'm feeling!

My question is: What are the essential differences between the Kayfun setup and that of the Orchid (not that I've ever clapped eyes on the latter). I would consider getting a clone to play with if you deemed it worthwhile.

I would appreciate your frank opinions on these two types of RBA please. Thanks in advance, Andy

Not had an orchid Andy but it loks really easy to dual coil from the pics I've seen. Having said that the Kayfun gives a good Vape for me and I can get all I need from a single coil.

I guess it's a case of whether you fancy a change or and want to play around with dual coils or your not happy with the
Kayfuns.

You can actually dual coil a kayfun if you wish.

I don't think I'll be buying an orchid but only because I have 6 kayfuns and recently bought roses, elrkonigi so and a squape so I have plenty to experiment with for now.

In my opinion the Orchid is far better vape (clouds & taste) than kayfun, it has four channels dual, air flow etc it is like a dripper but with tank look here under £8 V4 listed today

Got Kayfuns 3.1/KFL and Orchid clones.
All easy to set up and fill.
Orchid is shorter, uses more juice (dual coil), produces more vapour and a warmer vape.
Kayfuns feels better built and I think give better flavour.

Just ordered one to try, at that price it would be silly not to...if it's shite than in the bin it goes

I've had two Kayfun clones (lite and Lite+V2), and hated both of them.
I also have the Orchid v3 (and Fogger v4 which is a very similar vape) and imo both wipe the floor with a Kayfun. The flavour, vapour production, and air flow all far exceed what you get from a Kayfun.
Honestly I can't fathom all the love for Kayfuns, but people seem to like them. For me the draw is just way too tight though. (if you like a tight draw you can get one on a fogger, if you like an airy draw you can't get one on a KF)
If you are coming from a Protank or similar you might enjoy a KF..

While I wait for the Kayfun fanboys to tear me a new one I'll just add that this is just my opinion, what I prefer to vape, etc, etc...... (we're all different after all)

Maybe you didn't have the kayfun set up right. Must admit I nearly gave up on them but got there eventually.
i think most RBAs have there quirks. I've just got a couple of Erl clones and I find them hopeless compared to the kayfun or the Rose.
others think the Erls are fantastic so I assume I just haven't cracked the set up yet.

all part of the fun with RBAs IMO.

I'm going to be biased because I'm a massive kayfun fan. I haven't tried an orchid and not likely to anytime soon and here is why:

I understand that it all subjective BUT if you're not getting a decent vape from a kayfun (unless its a particularly poopey clone), you are doing it wrong.

You can tailor the amount of vapour & flavour you want with the build you put in it.

If you want it dripper like, you can build a big old low coil in there, put a wide bore drip tip on the top and lung hits are great.

Personally, I find the most pleasant vape from a kayfun with 1 to 1.5 ohm coils. It doesn't drink the juice too much but still gives a really satisfying and tasty vape.

I guess the lack of adjustable airflow means that if you don't like it you're stuck.

For me, it's perfect, the vapour and flavour is exactly what I'm looking for in a tank, if I wanted more, I'd build it differently, if I wanted more than even that... I guess I'd try an orchid or a fogger xD

Like sucking a pea through a straw......
Juice is cheap.. give me dual coils and tons of air flow anyday!!

The thing that puts me off is the non adjustable airflow. Decent clearomizers have that option.
A decent dripper, like the Origen, is my choice for flavour. I've been looking for a rta that's smaller than the kayfun lite for out and about, but for me this won't do.

Maybe an Erl would fit the bill.

The Erl looks a good design, but concerned by the fragility of the tank Greg, but when FT have them and the spare tanks are under a pound

I take it you mean the glass tank option VB. I only have the plastic tanks and they are very robust
