I'm not sure I would recommend an istick to a beginner as they might find it a bit too powerful - I've already seen a couple of cases of people who have just started not getting on with them. Because of the peculiar way they have set them up they are putting out over 4 volts at even the lowest (3 volt) setting so if you stick something like a Nautilus (at 1.6 ohms) on them you are getting 10 Watts plus.
I'd say something like an Evod or maybe an Emow would be fine to start with to see if she gets along with vaping.

Yes that's true, but this over power thing has only just surfaced in the last 24hrs, at least to my knowledge, and I'd already ordered one along with a Mini Nautilus, my view was that I'd be happy to keep it if it doesn't suit her. To be honest I think a big hurdle to new vapers is choosing an e-liquid that suits. It's demotivating if the first one, and it could very well be more, are sick making I have to admit the Evod kit I started with did nothing for me at all, and my juice choices didn't help. I nearly gave up on vaping altogether. Then again there wasn't atties like the Nautilus then.

Ok so a bit of feedback on this. I've spoken to people when asked about vaping but this is the first time I've actually introduced some one to it. The main hurdle I encountered when I took the iStick and Mini Nautilus round for her was the 'ritual' involved in vaping. Assembly, filling, cleaning, changing the coil etc. If you've ever smoked a pipe or rollies that ritual becomes part of the experience, but I don't think she was expecting it to be so involved. Anyway, I took my Kayfun and Spheroid round charged with Luna and Puros Dark, she vaped those on the iStick and chose the Puros Dark, mentioning the dark chocolate/coffee flavour in it she liked I filled the Mini Nautilus with the Puros Dark and when she vaped it said it wasn't the same as in the other one, the Kayfun, very perceptive as the Kayfun coil was 1.2ohm and the Nautilus 1.8ohm and I had the iStick set on minimum Volts to start with. A quick explanation of the reason was met with an eye roll I've left it with her along with some juice to top up. Her husband is has been told he'll be doing all the set up so she can just vape We'll see how it goes. On a side note, I left her with the iStick but not the adapter I got with it, she using her laptop. I found out yesterday that using the adapter could put you in serious risk of electric shock! Good job I kept it as she's away with her daughter and grandchild at the moment, plus I feel it may have scared her off.

I have found this even more recently. (work has banned vaping to the same smoking sheds as the smokers). I got lots of questions: ''wow, that looks good'' ''loads of smoke'' and the killer - ''where can i buy that and how much?'' I lose them immediately, ''well this bit is a battery tube, from uk, this bit is an atomizer, from china...'' The reaction is almost always ''oh'' looks at me like I'm mental. I think its easy to forget that many smokers want a faffless replacement for smoking. The kind of 'into it' vaper that is willing to faff around, join forums, experiment to get that great vape, is not the average joe. Ive converted quite a few at work but most stick to the decent clearo and ego setup although I'm always recommending nauty's, aerotanks and vv/vw to the guys who i chat to.

These post identify a problem that many smokers will have if they are contemplating switching to vaping.
I was lucky in on respect, my friend quite liked one of my e-liquids. I thought that was going to be a problem area as as even many established vapers struggle finding the right ones.
Edit: She also thought the iStick and Mini Nautilus was quite big and conspicuous.
