Cheers @zuza Yep looking forward to the next, something a bit different. is it made to order for colour or do you paint these 3d ones They are made to order at Shapeways and come in numerous colours and designs. Nice thing is you can mix the colour of the components if you want to be really leary. They do come in smooth and textured finishes and you can paint them, but to be honest i dont know why you would as they are ok as is.

@windows and crystal I'm looking for up/down and fire buttons for my next project, if you can could you let know the size of the buttons you get from Shapeways? I've looked at these by jonniemac and these by bapgood but need something a bit more detailed dimension wise to see if I can make them fit. I've been searching for days but the printed ones are the only ones I can find. I may do better getting a local machine shop to make some as they seem very costly.

You could cut down a shouldered bolt and grind the head down to end up with a top-hat shape, a lot of work, but could have brass or ss and the diameter you want. E: cut on red lines

Brilliant VapingBad maybe a lot of work be fairly easy. Off out to my bits and bobs box, ie the garage

First time I've looked at prices of parts and it nearly cured my constipation. . I thought it might be a good idea at some time in the future to build my own out of some old baccy tins (to be ironic ) but it could mean spending £100s on something you can get from China or even UK for £40-60. I always thought that building your own kit would work out cheaper.

Its more for the satisfaction of having something that you built yourself safe in the knowledge that it was put together properly, is going to do the job you intended and has not been thrown together buy workers that dont give an arse about qc cos they are being paid peanuts. Im not saying all the stuff that comes from china is bad but there are some good examples out there. Cloupor's going into meltdown, isticks that have a crap 510 and wouldn't give a correct ohms reading even if you could tell it what it was etc etc.

Yes @windows and don't think you can put a price on the satisfaction and sense of achievement of tooting on a mod that you spent time researching, designing and putting together yourself.

As my soldering is crap that means only 4 wires to solder on the board, in fact only 3 wires as I believe the grd and neg are common.
