www.fasttech.com/products/0/10011955/2056506-marquis-style-rda-rebuildable-dripping-atomizerI picked this up in the classies from geordie_vaper (cheers!) and I think it shows just how much one man's trash is another man's treasure. I don't normally do write ups on attys because so much is subject to build, wicking, juice etc.. but this RDA has blown me away! It's looks are subtle and streamlined, even though I'm more of a performance first and looks second kind of guy, this is one of, if not THE best looking RDAs for my taste of course I expected it to be a bit of a pain to build on. The work area is small and is setup to use 2 vertical coils which is not something I am terribly used to. I used a small coil jig and used the rods that come with the device - works a treat! Wound one coil toward me and then wound the second coil away from me as they need to be mirrored on the atomiser. I whipped the coils and posts off the jig and straight into the holes on the atty. Once the coils and rods are in place, you connect the negative wires, take out the top screw, wrap the positive wires through the crown and tighten it down, it works a charm and is an absolute piece of cake. Remove the rods, test the ohms, give it a fire, pinch the coils (ceramic tweezers were a godsend, this is quite a tight space to work in) and its ready to wick. Wicking was a little more tricky. The first time I wicked it, I pushed the strand through, used a flathead micro screwdriver to tease the tail end to the outside of the atty, pulled it through, made the cuts and when I stuffed the tail end back in, it pulled the cotton out of the coil - doh. Wicking it again using the same method but being a bit more careful meant it was ready for priming and vaping. The airflow is not huge so if you don't like it you are a bit stuck but it is a reasonable, restricted, lung hit - too open for mouth to lung and too closed for crazy cloud chasing, chest expanding, speedy air gobbles. The flavour is PHENOMENAL. Ive been vaping it for a couple of days and although I guess I'm still in vaper's 'honeymoon mode', this RDA is my favourite I've ever owned. PROS - BEAUtiful. - Top notch quality & perfect o ring tolerance. - Original design. - Fantastic flavour. - Comes with a set of posts that help make this thing a dream to build on. - Drip tip section comes out easily to drip. - Very leak resistant. CONS - Less airflow than some RDAs. - Cant really just drip through tip as half the area is just flat metal surface. - Ploughs throw liquid. I'm glad I have another on the way. I considered going for the original but with the build quality of this clone, the only benefit of getting the genuine would be as a hats off to the original designers. I'm not made of money so instead I'll just take my top cap off to them Build: 0.42mm Kanthal - 8 wraps x2 2.5mm diameter 0.45ohms

My favourite all rounder is the marquis- simple and superb performance I have drippers for flavour for different juices I have drippers for clouds of thick dense vapour I have drippers with large wells for less frequent dripping But when I set up a dripper for a nights use I reach for the marquis and I only ever single coil it, it's a jack of all

Out of interest, what are your specific drippers for each task buddy?

Atties are juice dependant, some work better than others with each different flavour The plume veil handles my cocomel and vanilla slice at 1.4ohm around 2mm former The zenith handles my strawberry better than all the others The Origen does a superb job with my vanilla fudge using a 1.4ohm coil around a 3mm former The GG dripper does a superb job with gvc, but it has to be re-wicked and recoiled nightly, cos I'm a lazy git it goes in the origen The vertex does the dual coil arctic cherry, lung hits that really clear the passages when I have a cold The veritas does the cherry just as good The marquis just does a decent job of the lot, I just need to change coil sizes and resistances to suit the juice The magma is another decent all rounder. And little used anymore- which for the life of me I don't know why, the immortalizer with its ceramic base does a cracking job with the desert flavours

Was thinking get the coils nicely spaced and perfect as poss before tightening in so as little FAFF once in as I can.

Just have to be a bit more careful when pulling the wick through as its so easy to mess the coils up.
