In morrisons today stood by a guy buying 400 Lambert & Butler £144.80 HOW MUCH !!!!! Just yesterday I was in a shop where I normally used to buy my Lambert & Butler silver ciggies, so glanced up at the price of those which are displayed prominently in boxes of 200 on a shelf (this being Tenerife of course). They cost 23.95 euros per box so that works out to be 47.90 euros for 400 ciggies. So 400 Lambert & Butler silver over here would equate to approx only £35.50 Uk sterling money at 1.34 euros to the pound which is what I exchanged money at in that same shop yesterday. People in the UK are being charged well over £100 more than our people are paying - that's just NUTS !!!!

Welcome to what was once called the 'Common Market' - Tenereife is part of Spain, who are members of the EU, and yet have very different taxation on tobacco, obviously!

Yes, we do have different taxation on various goods such as tobacco & alcohol etc, it's called tax concessions for the Canaries, also our IGIC (VAT) is different to Spain's - Spain being at 21% I think and ours being just 3% to max 7% dependent on goods or services. Until last year our maximum IGIC (VAT) was just 5% and there was an outcry when they raised that to 7% You have to remember that although we are a part of Spain we do have our own Canarian Government which sets out a lot of our rules & regulations completely relative to the islands and different to that of Spain.

You also grow the best tomatoes in the world. Shame you can't vape them
