Greetings All. I noticed on ecigexpress (anybody know how to post links on a hudl?) that they sell bottles of premixed vg,/pg/nicotine. Just add your flavours I presume. What are the pro's and con's with this system please? I was thinking about mixing up 100ml and drawing off 10ml at a time to add my concentrates to. Anybody do this?

Hi becksThe main advantage is convenience, the disadvantages are that adding flavour will change (lower) the nic strength and you also won't have control over PG/VG ratio in your mixes. (Note: Different concentrates/recipes will require different amounts of flavouring added, so the nic strength will vary across a range of e-liquids that you make)

Thanks Postmodern, I like my juices at 50/50 pg vg ratio, nicotine about 18-20% if added concentraits are say between 10-20%, would that lower the nic content by 2-4%?

20% flavour: If starting with an 18mg/ml nic premix and mixing 80ml of premix with 20ml flavour the strength would become 14.4mg/ml
10% flavour: If starting with an 18mg/ml nic premix and mixing 90ml of premix with 10ml flavour the strength would become 16.2mg/ml
If the premix is 50/50 PG/VG this also will change becoming more PG heavy as most flavours are in a PG base.

Thanks for that PM, I can live with those figures. I aim to drop my nic levels anyway, just seems a nice easy method to me. I'm probably wrong, but I'll give it a go.

Hiya Perps, yes, that is the site I came across the bases. I didn't realise it was available premixed over here. I am in the process of getting my mixing kit together and just thought it would be more convenient (and less confusing for my ageing brainbox!)

If you are going to go down that route, then better to buy in the UK becks, the last few orders I did with Ecigexpress I got hit with excess duty & RM's handling charge. Which made them quite expensive purchases. If you're certain of your flavouring percentage ( which is far from being a given ) . . . aren't bothered by your PG/VG ratio's being altered or the nic strength, then give it a go. For my money however, it's much better & less expensive in the long run to buy/mix the various ingredients separately, UKFlavours & Everythingliquid both offer some excellent starter kits: everythingliquid.co.uk/shop/make-your-own-e-liquid-silver-bundle/www.ukflavours.com/59-diy-kitsWith a calculator mixing really isn't confusing or difficult, plus you've so many of us able to guide & advise you on here.

Sorry, should have made myself clearer. Didn't intend to buy from the states, ukflavours will do for me. I was thinking buy a litre of 70mg nicotine and some pg + vg. Mix up a litre of base liquid, put this into 100ml bottles, further decant into 10-30ml bottles as needed adding my flavours at the end. What do you think?

What do you think? I can only be honest becks and say it's not a method of mixing that would suit me personally, whether I'm mixing for myself or friends I prefer to do it all at the same time. But as in all things, it's what is going to suit you . . . and you won't know until you try. Though I do suggest making small samples at first, until you get your mixing hand in & discover what percentages of flavours suit your tastes, rather than mixing large volumes of anything at first.

becks that method works for me, got a few bases mixes done with different ratio of Pg vg, all I need is to add flavor. Also keeps the high Nic stuff out of harms way, for the majority of the time. Just be prepared for the steep time it's added the flavors that take the longest time.Using a coffee / milk frother can help it along.

hi becks - I always make a flavourless base - about a litre - so if I want to mix up - generally mix on 20% - I just top 10ml concentrate with 40ml base - ready - easy - and the little less on strength really dow not make any difference

Thanks for your input all, I'm glad others are mixing like this, just seems convient to me. I can just get a few small bottles out and blend the flavours in. I'll try a few small batches and see if it suits.

You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
I remember that day ,it was in 1984,no nod to the book, and now its 2015, mile stone might be 2020 and yes i remember the song.
