I've fixed the download problem VapingBad, maybe I'm more tech minded than I think, ha ha. Having a good read now.

Interactive tutorial very much work in progress though. eh i still haven't sussed out steam engine for normal stuffs yet alone all dat i just trys diff coils till i find one i likes

The pic shows a coil with 0.2 ohm of Kanthal and 0.08 ohm of Ni together, I was just guessing what a Clapton with Kanthal core and Ni outside might be. You just need the proportions so they could be the resistances for the batch you make and you could use the ohm per cm if you know the length of wire you used to make it.

How much of a drawback, apart from the obvious firmware upgrading, would it be to have a DNA200 as a not tech minded Mac only user. I believe there will be a number of presets for various builds but I've not been able to download the data on it from any of the links I've come across. Your manual link also draws a blank. It would stop you being able to use profiles and custom TCRs. You can run it in a virtual machine, I have seen someone say bootcamp is free, but I think you would need to get hold of a copy of Windows, but not sure as I am not a Mac user.

As far as I can see VapingBad actually on the device you can select and save profiles, the setting are restricted to resistance and lock, power output and max temp: 'The DNA 200 allows you to save and select between eight groups of output settings. Each group of output settings is called a Profile.' 'Each profile contains an output power setting and a maximum temperature setting. These can be adjusted on the device, and will be saved when a different profile is selected. Additionally, the resistance lock setting and value for each atomizer is saved in the profile, which can alleviate temperature inaccuracies stemming from attaching atomizers before they have completely cooled. Many more output settings, including the coil material and preheat settings can be adjusted on a per-profile basis using the Escribe PC software.'The difference between the DNA40 and the DNA200 when used without access to Escribe as I see it is: 200w as opposed to 40w, presumable that will be on tap for more rapid preheat, and up to eight profiles saved with settings mentioned above. I have boot camp on my installation disc, just a case of partitioning the disc and getting a copy of Windows.

@scooby " they're looking into Mac compatibility" Yep, through binoculars. FAQ: Q: Is Mac software available? A: Not in the near term. We have a number of beta testers using parallels, which works reasonably well. All our new products from here on out will have this sort of functionality, so maybe a native Mac version in q4 or 2016, but it isn't on our firm development schedule yet.

Should be a wireless app anyhow....plug it in....in this day and age, really... I disagree, that would just make the board larger and more power hungry and as you pointed out earlier the app is not required to operate it.

Was said tounge and cheek but maybe if they lowered the watts a tad so you don't need 3 bloody cells to run the thing there might be a bit more space in your mod for other stuff.... Net flicks would be cool, just got a message to say there is new series of SOA on....
