Watched a review where a dry cotton wicked was fired at 420°F. It didn't scorch at all.
Does this eliminate or slow down the darkening of juice?
A negative would be great as I won't need to buy new stuff.
A positive would be good but I'll have to buy new stuff.

I have found that the temp control has prolonged the life of my coil and wicks Once you have done your dry burn test, set your mod, the temp control then will not let the temp rise above what you have set eliminating the risk of burning Hope this helps Cheers Glen

I've got an iJoy Acme tank & heads en route from China. I was intending to recoil the heads with kanthal.
Now I've got to get an iStick 40W and some nickel wire.
I've been telling Angie for months that we've found our ideal setup and won't need to buy anything else this year. Then I told her it's just one tank to try. If I get the 40W in black she might think it's one of my 30W.

Actually I don't think the cotton scorching or not will make any difference to the colour of the juice , which is more due to the chemical reactions introduced to the juices sugars when it heats up. But it will make a big difference to the taste. Though I could be wrong.

smifee it reduces the darkening of juice a lot, but not completely and the lower temperature the less discolouration, I like 370-390 F. Also as you tend to vape tanks dry you don't put fresh liquid in with the darkened stuff.

sydsut Some of my juices, usually the sweeter ones, need the wick changing more frequently. When I take the old wick out it's black. These juices get very dark and the taste does change. Lighter juices can go several tanks before a change of wick. The wick is brown and the juices keep their colour & taste. I'm hoping it's the blackened wick darkening the juice more than the heat.

I'll explain to Angie that I won't be chucking the darkened juice so it will save money in the long run

Run the old wick under a tap when you re-wick the next time, and i bet you it cleans up like new cotton.. when using a TC mod
