I still feel a lot of difference with the pre-heat on Kayfuns blakey, if you go back to my first thoughts thread in Oct you will see me raving about it before I built a genny in nickel. The level of adjustment is way ahead of anything else and a lot of it can be analysed for you the internal resistance, thermal characteristics of the box, charge & discharge curves of the battery. The monitoring tools would have saved some discovery time with the DNA40. And of course the ability to have any wire type, even seen a couple of guys considering gold. Many of these things are hobbiest features, but it is still a true Evolv press the button, vape and don't worry about the tech device. They even added a feature for me so you can chose to only charge to 4.1 V per cell making the battery last much longer. Lots of people said they didn't need or weren't interested in temp limiting (many still are) but look at the mod market temp limiting devices are coming thick and fast now.

Only seen them on US eBay search for "1590g CNC" so shipping is a lot, ask SV when they expect stock.

That is a different box, it is a standard Hammond box and the sides are not at right angles, SV & MM both do the ball-baring style buttons and silicon wire, I think you want pins for the buttons going from your drawing you can cut these pins down, make them from a shouldered bolt, get them 3D printed (see doc in OP), use Vamo buttons or 101 other ways. There are 3D printed lids for these with all the cut out and buttons, they are in beta so may need adjustment (see doc in OP).

OK SV and MM both have a good range, be careful as one of the wires for the fire switch is connected to the battery positive, don't want a short on that.

Wouldn't those smaller vamo buttons be to big for the switch on the board and touch the metal behind when pressed? I've been trying to find buttons of a similar size to the cloupor 30w everywhere I might just take one apart and use them

Evolv thread on using 2 x 18650 link this fw has not been released yet, but you can start planning and remember that you need to take care of reverse battery protection.

A few people have been damaging the screen ribbon cable on the fire button when the screen is mid way between the buttons. Be carfule to make sure it does not get caught by the fire button, I gently pre-bent it to an S shape first, but a couple of layers of kapton tape on each side of the ribbon may be worth a go.
Be tidy with your solder joints especially on the positive battery and output pads as connecting to the nearby vias (look like tiny holes, they join the layers of the board) can cause problems. The battery end you can blow the fuse and maybe damage the board, the output end you could make it auto fire.

Evolv are working on a FET protection board for 3 cells that would most likely do the job, they may well decide to do a 2 cell one for this. An easy way is to permanently join the 18650 as a 2S pack as you have a charger that will charge them and you won't have to worry about RBP, if you wanted to use new ones ecolux had some 25Rs with solder tabs. Personally I would stick with 3S LiPo or LiFePo4. I just put a question in about a 2S RBP board in that thread as I would trust their board far more than the Kinxing.

John answered in 3 mins they plan a protection module for 2 cells so you could use a cradle with that.
