It just sounds like the fire button has corroded as @windows said and if a replacement button can be got it should be easy to fix, definatly don't throw it the board should be fine. You could try and sluse out the button with IPA, it works sometimes.

Thanks for the reply, it has stopped working altogether now,the screen is still on but it has locked up again it's not asking for the 5 clicks so I think it's had it compleatley shame really I liked it just right for your pocket may have to look for another.

If you interested in selling it on as spares or repairs Id be happy to take it off you hands for the dna board to fit in something else.

If @windows doesn't want it phtumshk you can have it but I think the board f**ked, it's a dna30 upgraded to a 40 by windows so you can have it for free.

Thanks @windows will post it to you on Monday,if it's no good can you forward it to phtumshk as he wants some bits out of it, one question shall I disconect the battery because I don't think it's very stable after my soldering, I don't think the postman will be very happy if I set his sack on fire .

Prob best lol. If its definitely knackered I'll forward it on no probs. Hi @windows I have removed the battery and I think I know where the fault is,there's charring under the 510 connector it looks like one of the wires is burnt out.

All done. Turned out it was the usual problem of juice from the bottom of the 510 getting into the fire button and shorting it. Put a new switch in and all good.
