hi all i think this thread could be of great use to a lot of people especially those starting out and to others to try something different interesting question..what is your favorite ohm build/coil for flavour be interesting to see favorite ni200 and kanthal..as their seems to be industry standards going on..kanthal seemed to be 2.4 at one point but now more 1.5 and .5 and then with ni 200 .15 and 1.2 ...do you believe these are best or do you prefer different...i tend to stick to what seems current atm so .15 ni200 ..i don't use kanthal any more when i did 0.5.then there's the old chestnut over ni200 vs kanthal on flavour fell free to add builds for drippers as well as its all good info for people i look forward to your views(it would also help to know what tank mod set up )..this could be a good thread for a lot of people to try out new things ill kick off (im quite limited as i always try a tank ,dont give it a chance and switch back to the subtank mini) subtank mini (found doesn't really matter what mod) -ni200-.15ohm occ (may alter as i have made some vertical heads .15), kanthal 0.5 vertical occ (found much better than the horizontal it was like having a completely new tank ...just remember to keep the horizontal heads and rebuild to vertical as new vertical cant be rebuilt ) goliath (first build) i tried dual .15ohm (12 wraps 32g) and its pretty good not as harsh compared to subtank (.15) a more mellow, fuller flavour, less kick have tryed other tanks but nothing worth noting as wasnt keen on them (lemo,atlantis2,),did a build on .15 goblin had as i said on here it was very wierd it worked great plenty of vapour but no flavour at all very strange ..but i know others have got on with it .... ive got a few more tank/build view coming up in acouple of weeks as off on hols sat for a week then ive got a few more tanks to try out and alot of drippers ,so im hoping for a few pointers of what people like right over to you lot could be interesting cheers russ

Funny that I'm not overly keen on the subtank, yes it do the job well but with no finesse (darth vader atty)but I must try a occ vertical coil Goblin on kanthal is a lovely beast but you have to keep the Id of the coils down to keep good air flow .4 up to .8 ohms is good Chinchilla thing is same as goblin Sept top fill but the v 2 looks awesome Fogger v5 can be moded þo a lazy lung hitter and is good at same range as goblin Kayfun about .8 But I haven't had good combination of attys and tc mod so that's all on good old kanthal Still can't bet a good old Clapton coil (did try in ni200 but don't think it ended well lol)

My best Custard flavour at the moment is a pair of 1ohm coils in a Goblin - faff-free and really chucks out the vapour too. I'm sure there are other builds but this just works for me, and as the coils are .4mm Kanthal, they are sturdy and robust so dry-burning and rewicking are a doddle.

Im stuck in the dark ages, well about 12months ago anyway. I like a 1 - 1.5 ohm single coil and I like to give it 'fresh battery' voltage so watts may vary. Ive tried a couple of low ohm tanks but always seem to rewick them at 1 ohm after a tank full. I dunno about buying a DNA 200 Id probably get away with a 15W vamo lol.

Bit boring here, 6 wraps .4mm kanthal on a ..........erm..................aaaaaaaa................don't know what size the screwdriver is but the coils all turn out .7/.8 ohms at 20w in all my sub tank minis. Couple of kayfuns at 1.2 ohms. Enjoy pretty much all my preferred juices on the above set up. As I say, pretty boring but I ain't about to waste time, get frustrated and piss myself off chasing something that you may never find or might not even be there. Have spotted a couple of tanks I would like to try, but very much enjoying my set up as it is, so in no rush to ruin change it, chasing what I might never find.

TC not ohms is my favourite for flavour atm, consistent the whole time. Other than that i would go for with twisted dual coils at 0.2 ohms on a dripper or around 1-1.2 on something like a Heron or genny.

I've just got into rebuilding my own coils (thanks to my lovely teacher tim) so I've got only 2 types of tanks at the moment, kanger subtanks & lemo drops. I try to aim for coils at around the 1 ohm mark for both types of tank, didn't really like lowering to .5 ohms but don't mind variations between around .9 to 1.2 ohms. I vary the watts between 14.5 and 18.5 depending on mod being used and juice. Very happy with my setup and can't see any reason to change it

Stopped counting ohms when I stopped using mechs really, apart from being above min ohms for the mod. IMO coil geometry is much more important with VW. I find ramp up and cool down time more of an annoyance and I have gone back to using thinner wire with mods like the iStick30. With DNA40s & even more so the DNA200 in temp mode ramp up time is not an issue any more.

The resistance makes a difference and dependant on tank and mod (VW or TC)I range from 0.09 to 1.5 but a much bigger difference in flavour occurs with the coil spacing around the wick, and wicking material. I sometimes try Jap cotton but always seem to return to Celucotton (rayon) as it gives me a cleaner taste. An RDA will give you more room for spaced coils as opposed to a RTA as well. No single resistance figure as it's all relative I'm afraid.
