When soldering up a VV board do NOT attempt to swap hands with the soldering iron without looking at it
1. You will grab it by the hot bit
2. You will swear
3. you will need to run the burnt bit under the tap
4. I did You will get a burn blister on your finger

Another alternative.
1. Once you have soldered metal parts do not pick it up with your fingers straight away to examine it.
2 Through to 4 as before.

Don't try and solder wire to stainless steel tube. You can't - I just spent about six hours finding out the hard way. Oh, and I managed to burn my finger whilst looking at something else  . Given up for today. |
