Make a damp trap using salt, Tupperware dish, a cheap cloth an elastic band
Noticed that when my cheap hydrometer gets to 44% my smoke alarm goes ape. Least little thing & it goes off
I will report back on this for the next few days as when I got back from hols it didn't go off for 4 days. Other option is get the cheap ones from £ shop & refill with salt/cat litter
I'm really hoping this fixes my smoke alarm woes I've had since November
Jane P's. Mods not sure If this is in the wrong place feel free to move please (not sure it is)

Replace the damn thing @johanino. It is a life saving device, and if it is misbehaving, who's to say it'll work when needed.
Treat it like a car, get it MoT'd every year.

The fire brigade have community officers who will replace it for free also if you're housing association or a council tenant they would also replace for free!
