would love a small printed mech squonk like a frankenskull or similar. Being a cheap bast..d lets see what we can come up with as cheaply as possible. Cost to date: 1 A3 perspex sheet in black for £2.95 & 1 strip of brass for £2.50. Lets get busy with the hacksaw. Im feeling cautiously optimistic.

After much tea drinking and frantic sawing we have our components ready to meet Mr.Gorilla glue. I pre notched the bottom corner prior to assembly, will custom fit the door to it when its all fixed up.

Ride on time! We have a black box. In hind sight I couldve probably made it a fraction smaller. But I opted for a generous fit for the insides, so I could actually get the insides in it. But still, just a smidge bigger than a cloupor. Should be able to get some nice radius' on them edges and hopefully buff out them glue lines.

Just need to check the plexiglass pieces I have size wise and probably will commence messing around once I get some spare time!

Ive dun goofed! Turns out regular 5/10ml bottles are fatter than I thought. I really should have measured 1 properly lol. Have had to buy some 7ml bottles that are 18mm diameter. Yet more expense had to buy 10 for £2.99. Has given me chance to knock up the last of the perspex sheet into another smaller box. Go small or go home as they say. New box after a bit of a buff with the emery cloth.

Turns out gorilla glue aint no good for fine perspex work, damn thing fell apart while I was giving it a clean in some boiling soapy water. Not 1 to quit I tried some of er indoors' acrylic nail glue stuff, turns out to be the absolute dogs bollox for sticking perspex together (Acrylic glue, go figure lol). It like melts as it fuses as it sticks. Rock solid permanent joints. Made up a 'brake pipe' squonky 510,some contacts and a button. Gingerly stuck a battery in it for a test. Get me some of that 4+volts. Just waiting on me bottles then i can finish it up with a squonk hole and a final fettle & buff.

That is really nice and portable squonk mech phtumshk ! Acrylic nail glue you says? Ok I hear you I say nail glue (appears the stuff on ebay listed as nail glue is just superglue) but its more like liquid acrylic, theres a powder and a liquid. You wet your little paintbrush with the liquid then dip it in the powder and you geta little ball of liquid acrylic. Brush it on quick whilst its still wet then clamp it together. When all the thinners stuff has evaporated it sets like proper plastic. Been looking into it on the web for the next perspex project , may try this stuff out. Looks super easy to use and appears to be the proper stuff for the job.. £2.99 for 50mlsThey also do the Medium thickness
