Firstly................. I am very happy with my Riva, the size, weight and the battery life (on a good day when I dont vape that heavily I can get nearly 2 days on one charge). I'm now comfortable enough with it to vape on the streets using it BUT - after seeing the Provari, I fell in love with it, then again I am a realist and know I cant afford one now, well not unless I won the lottery, married a millionaire or had an inheritance, or it was a lot cheaper and I don't think any of those will happen soon So knowing all the above I'm a little unsure what to do next......... I know that my current Riva will not last forever so the logical step would be either getting another Riva kit.......... cheapish but well worth the money and I am pleased & comfortable with it or getting a lava tube or something along those lines. I'm not too sure whether I'd get along with a lava tube......... for one I'm not very tech minded (I can just about turn my phone and comp on lol) and quick research on variable voltage and batteries make my head spin I'd value the opinion of recent and experienced vapers as to the pros & cons of buying a lava tube and whether I could use my Imist & visions on them or should I stick with what I know and trust?

If you're happy with the vape of your Riva why don't you just get one of those nice etched batteries and a new stainless steel cone cover for a bit of bling. I recommended these over the Lavatube or mini which is a bit fugley, maybe the chrome mini would be suitable? but if you don't understand variable voltage it may be a wast of your money. Or perhaps one of the variable voltage Ego batteries or Ego Twist to dip your toe into VV vaping, these are a doddle to use and change the voltage.

I like the LT, cheap and cheerful, turn it on, turn it up if the vape is boring, turn it down if it's blowing your head off.
Use SR fittings on it.
Use AW IMR batteries and get a decent charger.
That's it, it's simple.

Thats what I was thinking Des, thanks........ the etched Rivas are quite swish looking and not all that expensive. I never thought about the twists, I suppose that would be the best way to try VV vaping and as long as they are simple to use I'd be happy

On a serious note, since I've used and still own an ego booster - I'd be happy with an ego twist. If they're cheap enough for just the batteries and charger, I'd take it if I didn't have a lavatube. It's about time they added the buck boost to their batteries. As much as I like my lavatube, it is a little embarassing to have it showing so... prominently through my trouser pocket in such an... unfortunate position. It's less portable than I'd like it to be but I need more vapour!

An echo from me. I started with a Riva and added a mini argento and a mini LT (less trouser embarassment lol)
But... as you're happy with the Riva for now, I'd definitely go the twist route. VV lite.

Esme, it is hard trying to be sure you make the right choice, the Twist could be your answer, like Des says, your not straying far off what you have now but have the opportuity to try extra volts. The Lava tube doesnt have to be complicated, its very simple to use, especially if you buy the kit because you wont have to worry about buying the right batteries, it has an on/off switch, voltage up switch and voltage down switch. The new ones like Bel has looks the nicest I think and they dont cost the earth. If you have your heart set on the Provari then I would buy cheap for now to keep you going and wait till you can afford one. I understand you being happy with what you have now, I enjoy my Riva/Ego batteries, my 1000mah will last almost two days as well.

We got a couple of passthroughs - hubby loves being able to vape at higher voltages but it doesn't really matter to me. The black batteries do feel nice though almost like velvet

There are two ways to go really. First is the battery mod route, which will give you a similar experience to the Riva but a longer battery life and probably a bit more oomph - most of the decent ones will last pretty much for ever and once you have a charger and some batteries you will just have to get new batteries every year or two. Alternatively there is the cheap VV route - that will allow you to try different voltages but also allow you to stay on a set voltage rather than it steadily going down as it will with a Riva or a battery mod. The main disadvantage of this is they may not last any longer than a Riva as cheap electronics are a bit vulnerable and can be difficult to repair if they pack up.

The thing about going this way though, well the way I thought about it, is you can buy some decent batteries and charger and if you pick the batteries that work in other mods you are interested in, then you can just use them in another one, if it stops working.

I would go with a twist too I got on ok with my lava tube but a- it was too big and b- lacked sophistication I wish the twist had been about when I switched to vv that would have been my first purchase and if I ever sell the provari you can have first dibs esme
