Moved easily from a look a like to an Ego with stardust so decided the next step was a tank and Argento. Got it home, had a few old batteries which work fine in my torches, charged them up, attached a clearomiser, got a few weak puffs, then nothing. Just in case the batteries were rubbish, I borrowed one that I know works fine, made sure it was charged and tried again. Seemed to work OK with the stardust, so attached the little tank, nothing. Tried the stardust, nothing. Recharged the battery, just in case and managed to get the stardust to work, and spent the rest of the night using it. Got home, tried the tank again - small hiss, then nothing. Tried two stardusts - nothing at all. They all work fine on an Ego battery, so it's either the Argento or the batteries, but I've tried three now. Have bought some new ones so will try again when they arrive, but be impatient have I missed anything? And yes, the battery is in the right way round.

Ultrafire 2400 mAh protected, but I've bought some SenyBor 2200mAh protected which supposed to be much better. I'll just have to wait for them to arrive but it's like getting toys for christmas with no batteries. Only other thing I can think of is the contact at the top might not be making contact with the carto - I've tried lifting it a bit but it seems very thin and flimsy and I don't want to snap it off.

it does sound like it could be the battery to carto connector ...you could try prising the center pin up a touch with a cocktail stick or similar

Tried prying it up but didn't help - all the bits work fine on the Ego battery, so can't be anything wrong with them. Batteries were charged, I checked and rechecked and rechecked (must have a bit of ADD).
Will wait for the new batteries and see...
Back to the post - would putting a tiny wad of tinfoil help?
On the positive side, just ordered an 1100 mah battery from Vapourhut on sale - under a tenner with discount, so that will compliment my smaller Ego batteries nicely.

If you put tinfoil you risk shorting it out when you screw the cart in..
I would use a DMM on the connector and check to see what's going on with no load when the switch is pressed..

No idea what a DDM is, but all I want to do is attach something and vape. I'll see with the new batteries or it's going back.

DMM = digital muti meter... to test if the argento is firing ok have you tried to prise up the center pin a touch yet? if it is the pin not making a contact even with new batteries it still wont work

I have, it did get me a couple of splutters, but even those have stopped and now it doesn't seem to make any difference. I don't want to break anything but I've levered it up as much as feels safe. Plus I don't really want to be bending it everytime I change a fitting. A DMM is not the sort of thing I have lying around though. Mechanical stuff I understand, electrical stuff I'll change a plug but that's it.
I guess I should just chill out until the new batteries come. I just want to play with shiny stuff.

Get in touch with Britvapes, Chris is really really nice and I'm sure he'll sort it out

I'm sure he will, I'll wait until the new batteries arrive next week, just to make sure. This wasn't a whinge about Britvapes or even the Argento - seems like plenty of people love them, and for the few minutes mine kind of worked it was really good.

my mini doesnt seem to be performing as well as my 650mah ego both using the same stardust/juice combo, is it most likely to be a battery issue? i tried them both fully charged and the ego wins hands down ive got another battery ordered and arriving any day now so hopefully this should sort it
