I am putting together parts for a BIG mod, It is using a PC power supply to power up a Hookah.
Now I have a few ideas that I am going to try out on the bench first, but have been thinking what is the most of you using?
What I am thinking is that it has a juice loading system like a bullet into a rifle, where it contains the atty and juice. that way there is no cross contamination of flavours.
I have the standard PC supply voltages to play with but want to get a feel as to what you all are using as to produce a good vaple cloud or tadte or throat hit etc

I'm happy vaping with a 3.7 battery and lr carto! On the LT with a sr carto I tend to vape between 4.2 and 4.5! Have I answered the right question?

Got an LR 1.5 ohm dual coil in a 6ml tank on the ThroatHit at 4.2volts. Got an LR 1.5 ohm dual coil in a 6ml tank on the Silver Bullet with a 5volt battery. Got an LR 2.0 ohm dual coil in a 6ml tank on the Provari at 4.7volts. Got an LR 1.5 ohm single coil in a 3.5ml tank on the Stealth. Got an LR 1.5 ohm dual coil in a 3.5ml tank on the Provape 1. Got my first rebuildable coming this week (Line) so by the time I've finished making a mess of coiling the wick gawd knows what the impedance will be

Thanks guys, so atm the average is between 4 and 5v with an LR of 1.5 to 2 ohm resistance.
Do you both go for the throat hit or flavour, as they seem to be at the other end of the scale?

I would say that's quite high..5 volt on a 2 ohm is 12.5 watts. Only possible with dual coils.
Most people on single coil will be vaping between 7 to 9 watts..Any more and it'll get uncomfortable..

So what do you think of the abouve then Macca? Got an LR 1.5 ohm dual coil in a 6ml tank on the Silver Bullet with a 5volt battery.

I think that one of your coils has burnt out by now and you are actually sucking on a 3 ohm coil at 5v or you are what you say you are..Batty....

I use 2.4ohm CE2s at 5V on the LT which means it's not likely actually 5V but more like 4.6 - 4.7v under load or near that.

I generally vape at 3.7 with standard res atty but sometimes use Lr or vape at 4.2

Vaping is like many things, it depends on the person thats doing it. Whats uncomfortable for one may not be for another, there was mention in another thread of someone who vapes 40mg juice and another that vapes 60mg juice, I would find that unpleasant but they obviously do not. I know of a few people that lowered the nic content of their juice when they started using rebuildables and spinning their own low resistance coils. The problem with answers to a question like this is that each answer is unique to that persons experience and what they like and do.

That is exactly why I asked it Lunderdog, I want to know peoples prefferances, their individual tastes and why they go for that resistance or voltage, is it because they like a good throat hit, or is it because they dont like the throat hit but like the flavour.

Yes, I agree and do understand that like food it's a personal preference. If you plot a bell curve of vaping wattage you'll probably find that the majority of peeps fall under the 7-9 watt category. There are people who vape a 3 ohm coil at 3.7 volt and be satisfied with the feeling and there are folks who vape at 18 watts. That's what I was trying to convey rather than as a criticism for those who vape at higher wattages.

Yeah, I use 6mg nic so I like to bump the voltage up for a TH or it's like sucking in flavoured air #icon_rofl#

I used to smoke a pipe and cigars aswell as rollie so I was always used to a good throat hit from my smokes, so when I switched to vaping I struggled to adjust till I got my first VV device and got the throat hit I craved. Sometimes different flavours would intensify with more voltage while some would start to taste burnt, juice viscosity has an impact too, if you have thick juice in a tank with a carto and give it wallop with 5volts you use a lot of juice and it takes longer for more juice to seep in, which is another reason I keep a few mods on the go at once aswell as having a choice of flavours without having to switch tanks.

No worries Macca, we all like what we like and it would be a boring world if everything was the same. To me I'm at the stage where wattage means so watt, if it hits the spot, I don't care
