I'm new to vaping as well, so I'm probably not the best person to give advice, but I can offer you a "hello and welcome!".

You can't do Angus without an SG I assume it's mandatory to chicken-walk while playing it?

dave: the advice I was given was that I'll probably want to upgrade to something like a clearomiser at some point soon, but they do involve extra fiddling around, so I should maybe start off with LR Boge cartos to see how I get on.

karma: thanks for the suggestion of a "spiky thing". I like the fact that it's actually called a "spiky thing". This makes me want to buy one regardless of whether it's useful or not! Chrissie: Yes, I am using a drip tip on top of the carto. I think it's just that I've got used to the cooler vapour on a standard atty and the LR vapour feels hot in comparison. Not a problem now that I'm getting used to it, but just wondered whether the increased heat of LR has a tendency to mute out sweeter type flavours. (?)

Nice collection, Al! What are the makes? Apart from the Jackson, I can't quite tell. The Les Pauls look like Gibson rather than copies, but again I can't quite read the headstocks.

So, here are my latest steps (and also my latest noob questions!) in my journey into the world of vaping:
The LR Boge cartos I ordered arrived. I wasn't sure what filling method to use, so I went with the condom method. I filled from the connector end of the carto, although I was a bit unsure about this, as I've seen videos of people plunging the open end as well. Anyway, it seemed to work fine (and it wasn't as messy as I thought it might be!)
If anyone has any views of better filling methods, I'd be interested to hear.
My initial thoughts are: I can appreciate the increased punch from these cartos, as compared with the standard atties I was using previously. At first, I was a little bit perturbed by the increased sensation of heat when drawing on them. But I'm getting used to that now, and it's fine, and I'm really enjoying the increased amount of vapour.
Flavour-wise, it's hard to say, as I've only used one carto with one type of juice so far. The juice is peanut butter, and from what I can tell, the cartos are giving me slightly more of the nutty flavour, and perhaps muting the sweetness a little bit. Does anyone think that for dessert flavours like this, or for more sweet flavours in general, I'd be better with some higher resistance cartos?
One thing I'm still not sure about is refilling. How often should I be doing this? Should I wait for the carto to run dry or until I start to get that distinctive burnt taste, or should I top up more often to keep it moist? (Am I right in thinking the latter will extend the life of the filler material?) Also, is it sufficient, after the initial condom fill, to keep topping up by dripping into the top, or should I also do some condom refills from the bottom as well?
Also (and this is my last question for the moment, honest!) what do people do in terms of swapping between juices? Do you rigidly stick to using 1 carto with 1 juice, and swap carto when you want to change flavour? Or do any of you just start refilling a carto that held one flavour with another? Or is this just a question of preference? (Even if it comes down to personal preference, I'm still interested to hear what different people prefer).

Hi all This is a thread for discussion of pretty much anything guitar-related. In particular, following the discussion that began here ( allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=newmembers&action=display&thread=990&page=70), I thought it might be useful for people who are learning to play guitar and want to get some advice. I don't have anything specific to add at the moment, so here's a picture of my guitar instead! (Note the presence of my cat, who is obviously beholding the instrument with wonder!)

I went joye 510 -> ego -> ego T atomisers (fail!) -> ego booster (got it cheeeap oh yeah) -> 3.7v box mod (not much better than an ego) -> kr808d-1/volt (pocket rocket, like a mini riva compared to ego, good stuff, good stuff) Then, the holy grail emerged... CE2! I like this little potted history! It's reassuring to know that other people have had to try several different set-ups before they discover what really works for them. I can't stand hold'em or the 34394 variants of what I think is dumbed down all-in bingo player poker. Err, sorry if you play hold'em lol lol, well, yeah, I know exactly what you're getting at, but I do tend to enjoy any type of poker. The "all in bingo" phenomenon usually occurs in no limit tournaments where the stacks are short (or become short quite quickly). I guess there are 3 things I'd say about this: (1) Most variants of poker (including draw games) can be played in a short-stack no limit tournament format. So it's not just hold em that can end up being "all in bingo". Any type of poker can end up like this! (2) Hold em doesn't have to be played no limit - it can be played with fixed limit betting, which means there are no "all ins" at all (apart from when someone only has a handful of small chips left). (3) Even when hold em is played as a no limit game, if the stacks are deep enough (say, 200+ big blinds), the number of "all ins" will be very minimal. Of course there are some people who would defend what you're calling "all in bingo". Even in a short-stack no limit tournament, there's still a lot of skill involved in the "all in or fold" decisions. It just becomes a case of who knows the correct maths and who doesn't. Those who know the maths have a long-term edge over those who don't. Of course, in the short term, a hell of a lot of luck comes into play. Which is why a lot of people don't like it, and why it seems like it's just a lottery, or "bingo". The skilled players are often gaining around a 55%-45% edge over their less skilled opponents when they get it all in, which should profit them in the long term (over many thousands of individual tournaments) but it will often lead to short term swings of profit and loss.

Hey, Bluefish, just noticed you're from Nelson. I grew up there, even though I live in Leeds these days. Coincidentally, I was having a look at Nelson on Google Streetview just the other day - I haven't been back there for years and I was curious to see if Oscar's Video still existed - quite surprised to see it does!

So where it says on the page www.britvapes.co.uk/Argento/p1204754_5844686.aspx that "The Argento can run at either 3.7v using an 18650 or 6v using two 16340", I should ignore this, as stacking batteries is never advisable? [EDIT:] Another quick question - on the banner-maker page, is there a way to preview what it will look like? Can it be changed once set? Cheers!

Thanks for all the replies! I just want to check that I understand the difference between the argento and mini-argento. Is it just that one runs at 3.7v and the other runs at either 3.7v or 6v? Are they essentially the same otherwise? Also: what are the pros and cons of opting for VV? I'm assuming the main advantage is you can tweak the voltage up or down to fine-tune how different cartos / juices perform. Is that basically it, or am I missing something else important? I think if Stars do buy them out, it'll be very bad for the game. Stars would have no real competition so rake would never come down. Plus, chances are they would just buy it to stop them re-opening. Hmm, I'm inclined to be a bit more optimistic. If part of the deal is that the DoJ will allow Stars back into the US market, and that market eventually becomes fully legal and properly legislated (as now seems more or less inevitable) then Stars ought to have serious competitors, given that the major B&M casino companies will be jumping to get into a legalised US online market, and will no doubt want to challenge Stars for their ROW player-base as well. Since I really will be making no sense to anyone but you lol. "Triple range merging", eh?
