Don't forget the nautilus If you're after a well made Oddy clone. Thanks FirinBlanks. The Nautilus looks rather nice! I was just pondering a Clockworks atomiser until you threw that one in as I have had no luck sourcing what I want yet. Choices choices lol.

Well I had my Vamo on my desk as I was writing a reply to VaporBreak and thought I best make sure it still had the fault (and I love using it). Low and behold it's now developed the '02' error. Grrrrrr. So it wouldn't work at all. So I gave them details of the new error a few days ago and they asked me to video that. Finally got around to making a video for them today and the error has vanished. It's still getting hot but at least it works again. Now I have nothing to video again. They must think I'm nuts. Will keep the thread updated

Well VB have responded. They want a video sending showing the fault. Hmmm.
/scratches head.
I guess I didn't explain the problem all that well lol.

Thanks for that robby.
I can't get either of those two joints seperated without a little damage it seems, so I best wait for VB to respond first.

Morning y'all. No problems at all stamina, we are all learning as robby said markm: Ah right, it looked ok up there on further inspection, not great with the off-centred insulation ring, but doing a good enough job. I tried flexing the tube but there isn't any give at all. As the hot spot is located just above the middle crease I'm inclined to say it's not that though. As I mentioned earlier, the hot area 10 to 15mm south west of the button and around 3/4 inch in diameter, 10mm above that middle crease. Burnt my finger again this morning hehe. Will a finger thermometer do robby: Does the top cap and middle section unscrew? Mine won't budge. I would need some guidance as to how to test the cap with my meter I'm afraid. Thanks to everyone again for their input!

If its getting hot just under the battery you have a problem with the tube. It sounds to me like the press fitted battery section is not connecting correctly with the top half. It can connect well enough to power the circuit board by hat won't need much juice, but Once you ask for warp factor nine it builds the resistance. Which as we all know turns into heat. Hi mark, That sounds like the ticket. The insulation ring is slightly offset (where the positive of battery hits the contact) but it looks good enough. The contact is centered too by the looks of it. I can't seem to get the red insulation ring to try centering it. Does the third section of the Vamo tube unscrew because I can't seem to unscrew that last bit?

Have you taken the battery out to make sure it isnt getting hot? scsSorry if I am repeating stuff here, I havent been online for a while. Hi robby, The battery has been taken out numerous times, switched with 3 different 18650's, and tried with 2 different 18350's. None of them get remotely warm. Heat is there no matter how long I leave it. Just tried it again and it's the same.

Yes mono even though VB stated new gold spring and it was gold when I got it, the vamo was hot..... Can we just clarify what we are terming as a hot Vamo? As punisher stated, all I can find is the Vamo getting hot on the end cap, the whole tube or near the battery connection. Was yours getting hot nowhere else other than a small area to the bottom left of the firing button mate? I'm talking an exact spot within 4 or 5 seconds of it firing. Maybe 10 to 15mm south west of the button and around 3/4 inch in diameter. This area enlarges with more use obviously. Cheers.

My SS one from VB is temperamental on the 3 flashes, and fails with that error after a few minutes. I have been waiting for a response or RMA confirmation from VB for over a month, it's in the hands of Paypal. Mine is the kit with batteries + charger and return postage was quoted at £8.50 or £13.13 signed for. That may have gone up with recent price hikes. I can safely say I won't be waiting quite that long before a dispute is opened via PayPal. Sorry to hear/read that mate. Thanks for the postage quote, I had a similar figure rattling around in my head so I may go for a new spring tomorrow to see if it cures the issue. Seems a cheap enough fix for me at least.

Hi Scs yes I bought the ss vamo at the end of jan and as stated on the website, it said new upgraded gold spring. There is a couple of threads on AAEC about people having the same problem. I had no issues since I got the end cap with spring from VE. I would never had known what the problem was without AAEC. I will never buy from VapourBreak again even though some people are happy with dealing from min, I was just unlucky, however it won't stop me from buying from china as the service from Zainy.net was first class when I purchased the chrome vamo. Good luck Are you saying you had the same problem, and it was fixed by changing the cap/spring ? SCS does yours flash 3 times when you put the battery in, and have you ever had it fail with error code O2 on the screen ? Stamina: That's interesting. I will be more inclined to purchase a new spring if they insist on returning the Vamo then. I just didn't want to purchase extras when it should be working but it will be cheaper that postage to China. Thank you. Monomach: The unit does flash 3 times upon a battery insert. Never seen an error code as yet. Cheers.

Hahaha Romelee. A great example of false economy. Fortunately I didn't opt for non QC on this occassion, ish If they did then it's not really my problem, just a delay in receiving a working product.

Many thanks for the replies!
I have contacted them to see what they have to say. Will update this thread for future reference if I get closure.
Cheers.
Steve.

Scs, I bought my ss vamo from Vapourbreak with the new spring and had same issues, its easily sorted with a new spring. Hi stamina, Did you order it recently as they do say it's the new type? Was yours gold in colour? I just don't get why it would run perfectly for 2 days then suddenly it's getting hot enough to fry an egg (just below and to left of firing button, nowhere else). If it was the spring, I thought I would have come across the issue immediately.

Not sure it's the spring. I have been using it solidly for over 2 days. And I do mean a lot as I purchased some Griz arctic lemon. Jeebus, that's some nice stuff!!
