Singing (for me anyway) is all about the pleasure you provide yourself - so Scylla, if you enjoy it, do it, never mind about whether other people could hear it or not. The simple enjoyment you get from it is enough. What's up with Ken?

Beautiful voice indeed Chris, I envy anyone who can sing/play a musical instrument ~ it's a wonderful talent to have. O dear Ken, I can guess why you've decided to go and I'm really sad that you have. Would you re-consider, you'll be very much missed.

Kenny, there are going to be tears and bewilderment here when certain people log on (and there are already!) - please reconsider - you don't have to get involved with anyone here that you don't "hit it off" with. You do hit it off with lots of us, to put it mildly. scylla x

Oh Lisa - what memories you have brought back to me!! You have beautiful voice. My gandaughter Emma was in the West End production of Les Mis. She was one of the child leads (not a singing one though) can't remember what she was called - it's me age!!
I took her there each day. Most times I sat through every performance, matinee and evening and enjoyed every minute of it. One evening though, I decided to have a walk around the West End etc.
BUT...... it was a night the bombers decided to attack!! I actually had passed the pub they hit, earlier on. Everything was cordoned off and I could not get back to the Theatre. I did eventualy manage it, by fair means or foul (mainly foul!!)
Then we had problems getting a train home - Charing Cross was closed, so we walked to Waterloo. It was nearly midnight by then!! We did manage to get back to Tonbridge Station - but then had to wait for a railway bus to Tunbridge Wells so got back about 2am!!
You can imagine the state her mother was in, not able to get information etc. She did not have a home phone at that time. It was in the days before mobile phones!! You begin to realise what a boon mobile phones are now for those circumstances. MM

Sorry Lisa, there's no mystery there, I'm just referring to the lady pals that Ken has made here, who I'm sure will miss him very much, so I tried to tug his heart strings with over-emotional language. Clumsy me scylla

..... it was a night the bombers decided to attack!! Which bomb attack was that?? Was it the IRA? I can't remember - it's me age! What a dramatic and fraught night! Thank goodness you were forceful enough to get through to your granddaughter! But, thinking about it, I expect you were like a tigress protecting her young scylla

Yes, Scylla #40 - it was the time of the IRA bombs - not WW1 !!! I've packed all those photos and info away ready for my move, so can't look it up. I think Emma was about 7/8 years old. It's all as clear as anything in my mind - just the memory is going!! MM P.S. Why has Ken gorn - I liked his posts - funny.

Ken got in a 2 'n 8 and wasn't happy with himself - so he's taken it out on us and he left. That's OK, that's what we're here for ( ??? lol) so I for one am just looking forward to his recovery and return.
