the dreaded head gasket went on mine for the second time so i sold it and got a MG ZT190. wasnt as much fun tho... there is something quite special pulling up to someone at the lights and smoking them in a ickle Rover

Can be a pain bud,but if done properly the HGF problem is eliminated,if not they just go again and again.

Thanks for looking in the gallery,I do it all on a very working class wage while trying to live near London....killer

As for the HG problem, was / is there not a reinforced head you can get to replace it, is it a warping problem?

I remember having a new LR Disco - think 4 times the head went on it, then they replaced the head eventually, and put a gooey orange gasket on as well

Lets call it a Rover cheapening the production costs HG problem,It was a award winning engine,metal dowels became plastic dowels,thermostat was badly positioned,oil rail and HG needed upgrading,many other cars are worse,Rover has the stigma
