From what I'm reading here and on other forums (fora?) this person is in a minority of, oh, one reading this thread and looking at the pictures I felt part of what looked like a very good day I don't suppose though that everyone will be happy, it's a shame really but that's life

Hi all.
So glad I went as I had a really good day and met some great people and was sat at a table outside the marquee who were from this forum but for the life of me I cant remember their names (sorry).
I like the fact that Scott really has time to speak to everyone. Top fella.
And to top it off I won a prize on the raffle. Touchwood mini, £100 Vape escape voucher, a tank and some liquid. Well chuffed !!
Thanks to all who made it possible and to meeting some great people.
Cheers
YorkY

Congrats on the win Yorky Another UKV member that wasn't a happy chappy - "bh virtual is better.. just got back from vfest. just like a tiny little jumble sale really, layout forced everyone into a hot sweaty corridor like enviroment along with loads of mostly empty tables crammed into centre of it all. wont bother again thats for sure, very unimpressed after all the hype. :Smiling poor old lf,crammed into a 6ft space as were most of tothers. as for the gg stand, unless u wanted to buy a ggts they wern't intrested and just ignored you.pr**ks. n £3.60 for a bitter shandy, taking the pss. imo of course.. " Just makes me wonder if folks like that can even start to envision how much time & effort goes into organising an event like Vapefest?

I'm home Seriously hungover and tired, heads thumping after a high speed 160 mile drive home through an airborn lake, but what a bloody smashing couple of days I've had, many thanks to everyone that I've met for being such nice people and I've throughly enjoyed your company over the last couple of days. Can we do it all again next month please ?

It's often the people that make the event, and if you're not with the right people, then I guess you don't have a good time. As with everything, you could have 998 people like something, but the only things you'd read about is 2 people who complain - you can't please them all Seems AAE-C is lucky for some when it comes to raffles. Really wish I could have gone, I just know I'd have ended up with a Provari and and a shiny thing to of gone on top of it Maybe when version 3 comes out? Has been brilliant watching the day unfold on here (so thank you everyone) So...who's getting on a ferry to go to the Irish one then?

I dont think they do chrissie, not saying that people on here dont, but my experience is that some people at the events I with a few others have set up, expect things to be absolutely perfect!
What they dont realise is that these events take months of planning, co-ordinating with vendors, the venue, and so on, and making sure that structures are ordered, etc then on the day we are up at stupid o'clock making sure that everything is in place ........... okay it may not be perfect but if you have the majority satisfied then its a success on your part.......... but as with every event there are always a few that expect VIP service and if its not perfect they will moan, from what I've read it was a fun event and I wish I had been able to be there
so kudos to the organisers and the vendors

I'm sure that people that attended the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations or the Olympics, some of them could find fault with how these events were organized . . . by people paid huge sums, to do the job.
Wayne was saying as we left, how he'd do XYZ differently next year . . . they're an evolving process these Vapefests and it's a great pity that some don't appear to appreciate that.
Personally, I find this sort of negative criticism at such an early stage to be quite hurtful towards someone who has worked like a trojan to organize it and who only wanted people to have an enjoyable time in payment.
It makes me sad and more than a little mad!

O we did Chrissie. I've always said, it's so much easier to give a brick bat than a bouquet, human nature sadly. But! We've loads of pictures between us to put on . . . so we'll be having a party for a bit longer yet. Am I glad I booked tomorrow off as a day's holiday though.

Some people just go and get on with things. Might like it, might not. Not everyone thinks at great length about details, organization etc. As a punter, you would have certain expectations for an event of any sort, and Vapefest is no exception. No point losing your rag over what someone else thought of it

No one will ever please everyone no matter what they do and some will look for fault in even practically perfect things, just because they like to moan. They're usually in the minority anyway, so who cares.

Sadly i couldn't go. I followed this thread from early morning though as events infolded until i went out. I'd just like to thank all the posters for reporting back with the pictures and posts, Des for the video and wayne for organising what seems like another great event. Well done to all those who won prizes and thanks to all the vendors for giving back to our great community. Maybe next year eh.
