Hi all.I have had my GD passthrough from LF for about a month now.I have tried 510 attys and cartos,KR8 cartos,901 attys and even 4081 atty now which is supposed to be good at 5V.I am finding most attys are burning out very quickly.Have seen i-vapour have some HV 510s for 6 volt.Does any one know if i need this sort of atty on my passthrough??Im getting pretty p1ssed off with it now.Im new to passthrough and feel like im missing somat ere.All attys are getting RED hot and under performing. Can someone pls very kindly put me rite?? >

I mainly use standard 901 atties on my GD passthru. They do get fairly hot but not red hot - well not the outside anyway What are you using to power your passthru?

You do realise you're talking about my most favourite vaping gizmo here Ian. I use one of these mains adaptors for my GD Pass Thru . . . cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280522733324I can truly say, I've never ever had a moments problem using this - it gives a fantastic vape - the nearest I've come to, to actual smoking . . . . I love it!!!!! I use standard 510 atty's ( I only use HV's for 6v vaping ) plus, I shove all my fading/dying 901/510 LR's on it for a few more days/weeks life.

I've been told that it's not advisable to vape from mains adapters (I don't mean the USB hub you've referenced, Perpy, that's exactly the one I've got). Just to ascertain what you're using, is it the one on this page? (I can't copy or save the pic.) elightelite.com/products.html#Someone will come along with more knowledge than I have, but at least we can specify what you're using to give them complete info. scylla

Hi Perpetua. No it isnt that one.Mine is from a different company,E-Lites.It is from an old e-cig i used when first started vapeing. It says, I/P:AC 100-240V 50/60Hz 0.15A.Then O/P: DC 5V 0.5A. So i just thought that meant i could use it???It is simply a plug that goes into mains with a u.s.b port on the bottom.I am wandering if maybe it is not performing properly???That is such a good idea about putting fadeing attys to 5V,will remember that. Many thanks.

If it is that Scylla I can't find any info on it, but I bet that's what is causing Ian's problems with his GD passthru.
Ian, I use the same mains powered USB hub that Perpy has linked to. It's brilliant - gives a constant 5v output & has an inbuilt over current protection.

Hi Ian,
I'm a complete technophobe, so you must forgive me - I bought that hub on Chris's expert recommendation because it has a compatible amp thingy for mains vaping.
Haven't the foggiest what I'm talking about tbh with you, just know it works absolutely perfectly with the GD Pass Thru . . . . but it really does give you extra mileage on your fading atties - the extra voltage seems to spark them into life for a little longer.

Could i also ask where you buy your 510 atties perpetua.Im not having any joy with atties lately.Got a pack of Riva 510(Standard resistance)from LF and they are worst to date. They are so so mellow, really not like a 510 atty.Seems they are not breaking in at all.Was even considering removing the threads from inside them to see if that would perk em up.Mind you, with my luck lately that would probably kill them altogeather.

No Ian, you aren't at all a thick head - far from it.
Do you have an eBay account? if so the seller Perpy linked to is brilliant & the price is excellent (well OK, the P&P is a tad OT). They are a UK seller & the total cost including P&P is £6.40.

The LR510's I use are all from Eastmall Ian - some last better than others ( the ever present lottery factor ) the standard 510's I've got are from TECC, again some have lasted for ages - although one bleak night I went through a complete pack of 5. I do have this unproven little theory that if you have several atties on the go, rather than caning just one, they last longer. That could of course be all in my head, as they're bound to last longer if you're not using just the one . . . . but it makes me feel less striken when they do die.

PS. If you haven't got an Ebay account Ian, I'll happily buy one and post it on to you - it arrived in a couple of days, if you do have an Ebay account.
