> I must be the unlucky one with attys here. This is my third one now today from a 5pack purchased a while ago. They fire up great but are only lasting a few hours,if im lucky. They just stop working altogeather.I am extremely annoyed with these.Would love to know who actually makes these as i would give them a kicking.Every 510LR atty seems like this from every company.I think everyone carrys exactly the same LR attys now.Has anyone found decent ones at all???Please let me know.Im seriously considering just buying cartos and standard resistance attys from now on.May as well throw your money down the drain coz you get no value with 510LRs.Using Jimmys carto again now, very good indeed.Think im just gona buy 5 or 6 boxes of these to keep me going, plus 2 lots of Tobys LR 510 Cartos.

O dear Ian, very sorry to hear you're having problems with these, just one question before I comment further ( and forgive me if I insult your vaping know how in anyway ) . . . . you're not using these for higher voltage vaping are you by any chance? They won't like that if you are, assuming that's not the case, I think you've been hugely unlucky. I've bought LR510 atty's from a variety of suppliers, both in the UK & overseas, some have lasted months/weeks/days/hours . . . it really is a lottery I've found. No consolation to you I realise and blinking frustrating when they expire after very little use.

Yes, LR atties can't take being used higher than 3.7v - they may not die immediately but they won't last long. As mentioned here recently (by Perpy I think) when they get weak having been used on, say, a Riva or Screwdriver, then you can eke them out on a GD-PT for a while.
I'm identifying with you very closely in your travails, Ian - I've often had long periods of bad vaping, usually because of substandard hardware, much of which is from the same source no matter which retailer you buy from.

No.On my Gary Dibley box mod V2 with 14500s at 3.7 volt.I would never put an LR on anything like 5 or 6v.Mind you i suppose people have done this.I think it must be very bad luck then.If i was new to vapeing i would not be so angry, but ive been doing this a while now and feel a little cheated,as i have never had so much bad luck in such a short space of time.

I only use 510 LR atties with my SD MKII & Riva.
As others have said, they ain't really suited to higher voltage vaping, but are ideal with the SD MKII.
Can't comment on how long they last, as I've been using the same one with my SD MKII since I got them a few weeks ago. Also, I don't use my SD MKII often, I mainly rely on the Riva model & generally use regular 510s with it.
I think flooding the attie or letting it get to dry also limits the life of atties.

Hissie is right. I've not had much experience of 510's as i don't really like them. They sometimes appear to be dead, but don't throw them away, try them a few days later & they may work again. In my case, I think that may be due to flooding them - blowing them out just didn't seem to help.

In ignorance, prior to Chris setting me right, I did put a brand new LR on at 5v - fair blew my head and nose off Ian! I tend to think 510's are less forgiving than 901's so it's more important like Hissie & Chris have said to not flood them and yet not let them burn dry.

Could just be a dud box.
I would at least contact the supplier & express my disappointment, especially since you have been vaping a while.

I always keep them rite though.Add a drop or 2 to atty, fill cart then vape.If they flood you get that nasty hit in your throat with no vapour or hear gurgling noise.I blow them out regular to.I will get my SD MKII,Riva and sidewinder out i think.Just to see if the LR510s work any better than on GD box mod.I have loads of stuff but have fallen in love with this little black box.Its just how it fits so well in the hand.Nothing else gets a look in apart from passthrough

I would say the nasty hit is caused by the cart being too dry.
Also, I've noticed LR510s drink the juice, so require more frequent topping up.

Yes they do drink juice, your rite. But worth it when they work.I dont mean the burnt taste hit when juice is low.I mean when you inhale and get that duff hit and blow out no vapour. When that happens i know it needs blown out,due to flooding.I then put it back on after blowing out and it works again.I never really flood them or let them get burnt taste to tell you the truth.Just have done it the odd time. Its just a balance to keep the juice flowing ive learned.Mainly the flooding issue occurs when ive had a few beers,LOL.

You must have decent ones then James.Good, coz ive ordered one of yours to try.LOVE your 510 cartos mate i must say.Along with Tobys they are keeping me going better than any attys.Keep up the good work mate.I do know that atties do vary though, just wish the manufacturers spent a little more time and money in perfecting them.If someone made an atty with a 6 month guarantee i would be willing to pay alot of money for it.Im sure it could be done.Wish i could do it and make myself rich.lol.

If someone made an atty with a 6 month guarantee i would be willing to pay alot of money for it. There's a thread here somewhere discussing that very idea, asking how much we'd be prepared to pay for one - some of us said £20. scylla
