Admin please remove post if it breaks the rules.
After much persuasion, I have entered a photo into The Anglia Co-operative Regional Wildlife Calendar Competition 2013. I wonder as this is my first time on doing anything like this if some of you would kindly vote for it please. If you wanted to vote please click the link, www.coopcalendar.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/wp-photocontest/viewimg.php?img_id=777&post_id=117 I’m on page 1 with 17 votes, it’s a picture of a Woodpecker on a tree, called Kings Dyke. Many kind thanks please note all, After you have voted you will receive an email from the co-op to confirm your vote, not until you click on the email will your vote be counted. Admin please remove post if it breaks the rules.

How difficult was it to get the pic? I hear woodpeckers in my local woods but never get close enough to see one like that

Hi Pacer, Just voted also, looks like you're in for a landslide. I still remember when I was a kid watching a Kingfisher for ages from a bridge over a local stream. It was beautiful, but I had no camera, I don't think they'd even invented Box Brownies then, but the picture is still in my memory. Good luck with the result.

Good job it’s not film.

I'm not sure how to phrase this....... but your picture is ok, but it's not that good. Sorry, it's not I know that people from here will want to support you and that's great and I know that taking a photo of a woodpecker is difficult....... but honestly, it shouldn't be a prize winning photo. Best of luck, but winning a photo competition shouldn't be a popularity contest, which I suspect this is. Not just you, but other photos seem to have the same kind of following. So I guess you won't be surprised that I'm not going to vote for you, but anyone else can vote for my photo which is number (joking ) But if anyone does want to vote for this on a popularity contest, then you get my vote

Let me explain I’m a very sensitive person somewhat over sensitive, and lack any kind of self confidence. However I agree it’s not a world class photo and I have been told by a certain person that all my photos are C*** so After much persuasion, from friends and family I found a pair of ball’’s and posted it I don’t expect to win anything with it other than gain more votes that the chap, who like you called my work like it is, I’m pleased to say that I have blown him out of the water he is on 7 votes. It’s not up to the public the final decision is with photography judges.

It’s not up to the public the final decision is with photography judges. I've no idea who that chap is, nor the reason why he should have told you that all your work is crap. Nor can I help you that you think all your work is crap and you are over sensitive. You found a pair of balls to put forward a photo, well great for you! I don't care if you're sensitive or not, but that's a great thing, you did it, you should put more photos out there, because the woodpecker photo was good. It's not good enough to win, but that doesn't mean you should stop taking photos.
