I've read all the reports. There is nothing that backs up any claim that e-cigs are 99% safer than cigarettes.

I'm sure that comment means something to somebody. There's already been one company censured for claiming e-cigs are 100% safe. 99% is pretty meaningless and can't be proved. Wild claims by vendors are as harmful as the wild claims, based on junk science, made by those who oppose the use of e-cigs.

I would never suggest a company claims 100% or 99% as I stated previously , I would state IMO that it is substantially safer than smoking tobacco products , but rather than be pedantic you really should look into things a little deeper , for your perusal

I too believe they are much safer than cigarettes, if I didn't I wouldn't be using them. Whether or not I am a pedant won't make one bit of difference to e-cigs. The stand already taken by the ASA will if sellers make unsubtantiated claims. Most vendors are extremely careful not to do so, not to give the gainsayers any ammunition.

Wow, only just come across this. Greg new as a vendor i had only just started out so many thanks Greg for post. Website isn't the greatest but hey early days and work in progress and as for the name being a bit close to safecig I can't see any problem as I'm sure he would'nt either.
I got into this because i think they are superb and my lungs and general health tell me they are indeed far far safer than tobacco. www.saferciggie.uk is run alongside and part of my main business as an interest to me and does not need to make tons of money so i can keep my costs low and hopefully get as many folks as possible off the dreaded weed. every penny made is going straight back into it and in time maybe it will become a good business. I pride myself on being a genuine down to earth fella who is not interested in ripping people off and offering good customer service and if you see my guest book this is being backed up so maybe a flashy website might come later! simon

Simbo welcome to the forums you will find some truley amazing people on here combined with great admins. Your brand name is a tad close to mine but not so much so as i would worry that it could get confused with mine. More vendors popping up is only a good thing for the vaping public and e-cigs as a whole. I wish you well in your business its great how awareness of electronic cigarettes is gaining momentum.

Both Professor Michael Siegal and Professor Carl Philips have said that e-cigs are at least 99% less harmfull that cigarettes.

So if 2 Professors are saying this, then I think that it is perfectly valid to repeat this claim
