Scylla, you are so right, the captcha did get easier to read & I sorted everything out an hour ago & made the payment. Shame proboards aren't so quick at removing the ads as they where to reinstalling them

Lol Scylla, after paying via google checkout I was meant to go back into admin, click again on go ad free & then it asked me whether or not I wanted to apply the credits . Er what did Proboards think I wanted to do with them - sit there & admire them or something ???

Well either I am not the most observant person in the world or I just switch off to ads.

Kenny, as Perpy says, they were mainly banner ads at the top (& sometimes also at the bottom) of the forum. Plus if anyone embedded a video from you-tube, the attached ad usually drowned out the video.

OK, I know not many folks do use the embedding facility but it's great that it can now be used without a blooming big ad attached to the right of it



BTW, Kenny, you wouldn't have seen the ads recently, apart from last night when my credits ran out, I'd paid for them to be switched off since 2nd December.

In my case it's because I don't know how to do it - I tried it a couple of days ago but when I clicked on "embed" on YouTube and nothing happened (IIRC).

I can't very often watch video clips anyway Chrissie. One of the joys of living up a mountain. I have a sat connection which is quite expensive with limited downloads so a video clip would believe it or not eat up half of my daily allowance. Thats why I don't comment usually when clips are posted.
