Well that response has made me feel so much better, thanks pepes for the support - I really needed that. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one that this has happened to and that it's not unusual - not that I'm going to make that an excuse and light up at every opportunity though! Silly thing is that I didn't even like the taste - which is a good thing. Onwards and upwards as they say. Graham

I've always felt that we smokers have an emotional attachment to cigs, as well as the physical dependency on the nicotine fix Graham . . . almost like saying goodbye to a bad relationship, a part of you ( me anyway ) still wanted to cling to the past, because it's familiar . . . . Good to hear you've put it behind you.

Good to hear you've put it behind you. I've put that episode behind me but as you quite rightly say, long term smokers like me (and many others) have a long way to go to let smoking go in such a short time - if at all. I've been smoking since I was 8 and I'm now 63 so smoking really is pretty much all that I've known as I can't remember too much before I was 8 years old without a cigarette so smoking has been a way of life for me. I'm sure I will get over it as I want to but it isn't going to be easy but I knew that when I started quiting smoking and started vaping. I'm under no illusion that just vaping is going to stop me smoking by itself, for me it's got to be a combination of several things including the mind set but I'm determined to get there. Graham

I craved cigs even 6 years after quitting (cold turkey & chocolate). The cravings were very fleeting though. Sadly, I resumed 40-60 a day in Nov 2010, but with the help of Chrissie & Perpy I quit 6 weeks later. Vaping gives me the hand to mouth, draw, inhale & exhale that I missed so much. As Perpy said, count the fags you HAVEN'T smoked & don't beat yourself up over the one you didn't enjoy

I smoked my last rollie in April, still get cravings, usually when I catch a whiff of someone else's smoke, so I grab my kit and Vape away! Don't feel bad, feel good that you disliked it.

I just looked at my sig pic and it shows that I've avoided 660 cigarettes since I quit, so 659 avoided is better than none. Can't believe that - 660 fags not smoked, I really don't feel guilty now. And I've been putting £50 away each Sunday and now have £200 in my 'Reward' box and that's a major incentive to keep going. Graham

I had one last night at my darts league match.......... and you know what, it tasted bloody awful! Cant believe i smoked 40 of those things a day Got halfway through it and chucked it in the cig bin, went back inside the pub and pulled out my Riva and blasted away on some cherrylicious......... and all the smokers were asking me about it One even took a note of this website and the place i bought the Riva kit from so i may have helped someone else to convert Keep up the quiting mate!

For me it is a bit like what Ratfinkz was saying in that she doesn't have any ciggies in the house. If I want a fag, then it is a walk across the village green to the shop, going in, standing in the queue and then the final shame of asking the shop assistant, who knows that I am now vaping, for a packet of fags and a box of matches. I would hope that long before I actually bought any, the incontrollable urge furra fag, would have worn off. I'm not saying that I will never smoke a fag again, but I doubt if I will ever buy any in this village again! Now on holiday? Well, that is a situation I have yet to face.

I was almost tempted today cutting up my tobacco leaves for my concentrate I could have so easily got one of my pipes but I didn't, but I wasn't tempted by the vodka I was using if I want a spirit I want something with flavour. Dave
