Not flown myself since using e-cigs, but many other members have done so with no problems at all.
They need to be in your hand luggage rather than hold luggage.

All batteries need to be in hand luggage I believe. Liquids, except what you are using to be in hold luggage.

Welcome jeannie and congrats on cutting down.
There are some side effects that people get, due to the body adjusting to life without smoke, but not too serious - for instance I got a slight sore throat for a while. Nobody has reported anxiety or irritability.
A lot of people cough a lot just after giving up cigs - something to do with the lungs clearing themselves out. So even though you've solved the vaping technique your cough may persist for a bit.

I noticed a slightly dry throat for the first few days but it soon went away (4-5 days max), just remember to up your water intake as it can leave you more dehydrated than smoking.
Oh and try not to overdo it either or you'll get dizzy and headaches (and your heart will feel like you've just run round the block). Just give yourself a 30 minute break from it if you experience that.

Thank you for the welcomes and the good advice today. I really appreciated it, particularly with the what to expect etc. Isn't it silly... I've been smoking these awful (definitely harmful) cigarettes for so long, but I'm concerned about taking up something that is bound to do me a lot of good compared to them! I suppose it's unease about the unknown! Looking forward to day two of my e-cig now I seem to have the hang of it a bit better. I have actually smoked about 1/3 of what I normally smoke and vaped the rest. My breathing is clearer already! So pleased!!!! Thank you all - Jeannie x

It's not at all silly to be concerned about the unknown Jeannie. All I can say is that I've been vaping for over 4 years & the benefits have been more than just financial So pleased to hear you are doing so well #icon_thumbsup#

Hi Jeanie, I was on Skycigs and fags for about a month, gradually cutting down the fags and upping the number of e-cig uses until one evening when I ran out of fags, it was bucketing of rain and the fag shop, on the other side of the village green just seemed too far away to get a soaking. That was the night I stopping fags and went 100% e-cig only.
I had a 40+ super king a day habit and I have not had a fag since.
So take your time with the change over. Your body will tell you when to stop the fags and go vape only. Just remember that there are other chemicals in fags, than nicotine and while nicotine is the strongest, when you start vaping, there will remain a certain withdrawal, but nothing like the symptoms you would have coming off fags normally.
I still get the odd twitch type withdrawal but it is very fleeting, lasting but a few seconds and having come off fags many times in the past, only to go back on again, I am now convinced that vaping for me is my only future nicotine habit.

Hi Jeannie, and welcome! I was a committed smoker of 35 years+, and found converting to vaping a really easy thing - almost too easy! I didn't suffer from coughing, but have noticed that my sense of smell and taste is returning now after a month off the fags. There is so much to learn about the art of vaping, but being a part of a forum like this will help you no end - just settle back with a glass of something (or a wee dram!) and read the posts here, you'll learn so much. Best of luck, and ask away - that's how I learned so much in a very short time
