Hello. I haven't really posted a 'please advise me' thread in a while, but I could really do with some guidance right now.
So. My usual set up is a nova fitted with a vision head....the silicone cup gets cut up but it still works, and it works bloody well, no leakage and gurgling WHATSOEVER. Not sure what versions of vision head I use....I only know that I have two novas, both different versions, and the heads that come with both are crap.
Anyway. I've got some credit coming to me from vapour hut because I sent back an item that went kaput. And I'm thinking of the vh genesis DID clone. I already have the vh dripper, which I've had no luck with, probably due to my unsuccessful coiling and wicking attempts (which have been both ambitious and idiotic). I want to progress beyond the vivis and visions because, though the heads last at least a week, rebuilding atties is still loads cheaper, and I don't have to be dependent on the vape mail and my pay day.
I want to know if you think the DID clone is easy to use, if it's a winner. I'm neither a noobie nor an advanced vaper. Somewhere inbetween. I'd really value your opinions. Do you have any other suggestions? I've tried a DCT tank, and I found it didn't suck up the juice sometimes and I was just dripping into the carto as usual, and this juice wasn't even heavy VG.
PS. Bored of boges and vision clearos.
PPS. I am skint, so please don't suggest I get a penelope or a proper DID.
PPPS. I vape mostly VG juice.
Ta. x

Booblay I've steered clear of genesis attys because they seem to be a level of faff above and beyond fibreglass rewicking. Have you thought about rewicking/coiling your vision heads as a start point? Modest outlay on a bit of wick and wire to see how you get on?

From what I've heard, rewicking vision heads is just as faffy...watched a tutorial once, had a go and failed completely.
Vivi head are apparently easy, but like I've said, I don't like vivi heads. Gurglerama.
And I like SS wicks.
Are they really that faffy? I mean, I'm prepared to practice and get things wrong, but I was hoping that eventually it will all just click and I'd have it down to a tea, and re-coiling a genesis style would be like riding a bike with your eyes shut, or however the saying goes.

Oxidizing the mesh properly is key Boo . . . and without wanting to sound patronizing in any way, as it's something that scares me witless, as I can't even get the butane into the blow torch . . . if you haven't mastered just a basic wick/coil set up in the dripper, then I don't believe you'd find this as easy as you think. But I'm happy to be wrong, you won't know until you try.

I would also like to get into these but i am a total biff when it comes to handycrafts/DIY.Be good if it all came preoxidised, wound etc and all you did was undo 2 screws and swap them over. :-[

But I'm happy to be wrong, you won't know until you try. I have managed to get an ss wick working in the dripper, but because of the dripper's design, it's really awkward and doesn't work very well. There's no hole for the wick to fit snugly into and it's all so teeny tiny. Have also got a ss wick working very well in a vivi....so I think I'm capable...though still need more practice. What I'm wondering is, Is the DID clone as tiny and fiddly as the vh-dripper.. Also, that maximus link you posted .... it looks like the only thing (or main thing) that makes it different to the Vh did clone is that little sock thing around the ss wick ... couldn't this be done with the did clone?

It's quite easy to do mate.
The VH or Vapingthings genesis is an excellent rebuildable for a newbie and a SS wick brings a new level of flavour and throat hit. Hard to replicate with any other setup..Or the SS Maximus is also a also a good choice if you don't mind using stuff which is the size of a NOVA..
It's only hard if you think it is hard or have a fear of setting things on fire..
