perpy, i was using this before i got the american blue foam precut. i found it great on both normal and LRs attys, whereas i find foam rubbish on normal 901s, normal 901s dont burn it up quick enough and you get flooding or a gob full IMHO that is. if i couldnt get the real foam i would always use fluval 2+. and that price is very very cheap, pet shops £5 to £7. it took me a week or so to get it right with fluval, but then i was a newbie anyway ( not like now not much i dont know ) raggy...............

I've got a big box of ornery Fluval, a big piece of Hanow's wadding, and quite a bit of James's blue foam (I bought some and he sent me a freebie of a different type) - and lots of very old unused filled carts I shan't need any more in a hurry no matter how good it is, which really pees me off scylla

hey thanks perps for opening a discussion re foam!- hooray, i love experiments : )
the very trickiest thing i find with using the fluval 2+ is peeling down the layers to the best thickness- the width and length is the easy bit, the thickness however is another matter!! i'm still getting it wrong with splitting into two then binning the peeled off excess..does this make any sense to anyone else?! too skinny and the juice runs through- too fat and you have to huff and puff to get a decent draw.. xx

I thought it was a great price Raggy, am really impressed with it . . . it's brill in the mega carts as well, as they seem to gobble up the foam. What I'm doing Beepsie is cutting it across the width to about the right length for a cart, rather than trying to pare down the actual thickness. . . . if that makes sense! Will send you some to try Scylla in your EM order.
