My CGR18650CH 2250mAh battery which I recieved today has been charging for around 5 / 6 hours and its still not fully charged yet! I'm charging it on my Trustfire TR-001 which works fine. What could be the problem? I don't want to leave it on all night incase it decides to go nucular on me while I sleep!

Can't answer your question chill, but it's prompted me to put the 2 that I received today on charge now & see what happens.

I've just taken it off of the charger and noticed that the charger has left a dent in the bottom of the battery where the terminal has been. it seems the spring is too tight on the charger!
I've put it into my LT and its working and reads 4.1v although it should be 4.2v iirc ???
Has my charger damaged my battery or what?!

I think with the voltage, it's normal to show a bit below.i don't think I've ever seen mine at 4.2v

Also, I think I read something on the forum somewhere before, that the Trustfires are a bit iffy, but don't quote me on that....I was advised to get an XTAR, which I did.

Mine has never charged my batteries all the way up to 4.2, 4.1 is what I get, and I prefer it that way. I'd be worried if it charged to 4.2V, with it reading to 1 decimal, that it may be over 4.25 (the upper limit) so I'd have to check it on a MM that displays voltages to 2dp. But that is purely down to paranoia, lol, not suggesting anybody else has to do this. I was also under the impression that not charging to maximum, or discharging to minimum increases the life span of the battery, though I'm not sure about that..

personally i'd take all the trustfire chargers and put them in the skip, but as it's the first time you have charged it, it could have had a really low charge and so would have taken quite a while to charge up, next time you charge it will be when you can tell if the battery is ok.

Tbh, this trustfire charger seems good and charges up my other crappy batteries fine. It makes a tiny bit of noise when they are fully charged but so have a lot of my nicd chargers including a £40 smart charger. I'm only considered about the dent in the bottom of my battery it's made. Btw, 30 min of vaping 2.8ohm at 4.6v and it's still at 4.1v my 18350s would be dead by now lol

I should have put the meter on before starting the charge, to see how low they were, but never mind.....Been on charge for hour & a half now.

TBH I find all this xtar fanboyism quite funny, it wasn't so long ago that everybody was recommending the trustfire as the affordable but decent charger to have, xtars appear on the scene and now all of a sudden the trustfires are death traps and only fit for the bin. If you want a really good charger, that uses a true CC/CV algorithm (which some xtars DO NOT, despite being advertised as such!!!! www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?307580-Xtar-WP2-and-MP1-(18650-Chargers)-Review-Comparison-to-Pila-DSD-DX-6105-Chargers) then the Pila is the charger for you. IF you do buy an xtar WP2, make sure it is the second edition
